Unsecured Protected Health Information definition

Unsecured Protected Health Information means protected health information that is not secured by a technology standard that renders protected health information unusable, unreadable, or indecipherable to unauthorized individuals and is developed or endorsed by a standards developing organization that is accredited by the American National Standards Institute.

More Definitions of Unsecured Protected Health Information

Unsecured Protected Health Information shall have the same meaning as the term “unsecured protected health information” in 45 CFR § 164.402.
Unsecured Protected Health Information means Protected Health Information that is not secured through the use of a technology or methodology determined in accordance with 42 U.S.C. § 17932 or as otherwise specified by the secretary of Health and Human Services.
