EMPLOYEE EXPENSES AND MATERIALS. 6.1 Uniforms: The District shall pay the full cost of the purchase, lease, rental, cleaning, and maintenance of rental uniforms, equipment, identification badges, emblems, and cards required by the District to be worn or used by employees.

Quantity limited to maximum 3-5 shirts, trousers and/or coveralls annually. Employees other than Transportation mechanics who are provided uniforms are expected to provide routine care and maintenance on those items. Routine care and maintenance will be provided for uniforms for Transportation mechanics. All employees who are provided uniforms will be expected to wear said uniforms. Uniforms remain the property of the District and must be returned to the employee’s supervisor when they leave the District or transfer to another department or school within the District.

An employee may provide tools or equipment belonging to the employee only with prior written approval of the Executive Director, Facilities, Operations and Construction Management or his/her designee. If the employment duties of an employee reasonably require use of any equipment or gear to insure the safety of the employee or others, the District shall furnish such equipment or gear or reimburse the employee for the cost of procuring such. The District shall enforce the proper use of such equipment or gear to ensure the safety of employees and others.
