Temporary Absence From Work. For all Benefits, you and your may continue to be covered at your Employer's option and subject to premium payment, if your absence active work is not due to termination of employment but due to: illness, injury, pregnancy or parental leave but not beyond age (or for up to months, if you are age or older and eligible for coverage); or temporary lay-off or leave, but not beyond the end of the contract month following the contract month in which such absence began. Termination of Coverage Coverage for you and your dependents will terminate on the earliest of, the date: you retire, unless otherwise indicated in the Schedule; your employment terminates or you cease active work, except as noted under the Temporary Absence From Work provision; you cease to be a member of an eligible class; premium payments cease; or this plan is discontinued. Coverage for your dependents will terminate on the date such dependents cease to be eligible.

Temporary Absence From Work. Time spent by the Union Officers and Shop Stewards for their attendance at collective bargaining confer- ences with representatives of the Laboratory, or in the adjustment of grievances, and time spent by Union representatives in attendance at meetings of the Job Evaluation Committee, Joint Safety Committee, or Joint Apprenticeship Committee shall be paid for by the Laboratory when such hours occur within their sched- uled workday. When it is necessary for such employees to be absent from work for such a purpose or when it is necessary for employees to be absent from work to initiate or process a grievance, they shall give suitable notice in advance to their supervisor of the time when such absence will commence and will report to their supervisor promptly upon their return to work. Xxxxxxx training, given at most twice in a one-year period for a combined maximum of four days, will be at the Union’s expense and require a minimum of two week’s notice to management. Management reserves the right to cancel planned Xxxxxxx training in the event an emergency situation arises. An emergency situation is as defined in Article 3.02.

  • ABSENCE FROM WORK Subject to the trust deed to the fund of which an employee is a member, the following provisions will apply.

  • TEMPORARY LEAVE OF ABSENCE A. Members shall be entitled to the following temporary leaves of absence with full pay each school year. Such days of temporary leave must be taken as either one-half (1/2) or one (1) full working day. No personal leaves of absence shall be taken immediately prior to or immediately after holidays or vacations. Any exceptions must be requested in writing to the Superintendent or his designee and must have written approval.

  • ABSENCE FROM DUTY Unless a provision of this agreement states otherwise (e.g. sick leave), an employee not attending for duty will lose their pay for the actual time of such non- attendance.

  • TEMPORARY LEAVES OF ABSENCE A. Teachers will be entitled to the following temporary leaves of absence with full pay each school year:

  • Temporary Leave Teachers who are members of UTW, at the request of UTW, shall be granted leave to participate in certain UTW activities subject to and in accordance with policies of the Board and administrative guidelines.

  • Temporary Military Leave An employee who is a member of the reserve corps of the Armed Forces of the United States or of the National Guard or of the Naval Militia shall be granted a Temporary Military Leave while engaged in military duty ordered for the purposes of military training, drills, encampment, naval cruises, special exercises or like activity as such member providing that the period of ordered duty does not exceed one hundred eighty (180) calendar days including time involved in going to and returning from such duty.

  • Temporary Layoff The Employer may temporarily layoff an employee for up to ninety (90) days due to an unanticipated loss of funding, revenue shortfall, lack of work, shortage of material or equipment, or other unexpected or unusual reasons. An employee will normally receive seven (7) days notice of a temporary layoff.

  • Approved Leave of Absence With Pay During Vacation When an employee is qualified for bereavement leave, sick leave or any other approved leave with pay during her vacation period, there shall be no deduction from the vacation credits for such leave. In the case of sick leave, this section shall only apply when the period of illness or injury is in excess of two (2) days and a note from a physician may be required. The period of vacation so displaced shall be taken at a mutually agreed time. An employee intending to claim displaced vacation leave must advise the Employer and provide necessary documentation within seven (7) days of returning to work.

  • Temporary Employee Temporary employee" means an employee who is appointed with a definite ending date. A temporary employee's term of employment may not exceed a total of 12 months in any 24-month period in any one agency.

  • ABSENCE FROM WORK AND REPORTING 17.01 If an employee is unable to report for work, he/she shall give the Employer a minimum of four (4) hours notice. In case of day shift work, this time element shall be one (1) hour. If notice is not given within the required time, the employee shall not be entitled to his/her sick pay on the first day of illness.
