Summer School Contracts. A. Summer school contracts will be issued by June 1 for those teaching positions which the advance student registration indicates will be required. Any contract shall be considered void if there is an insufficient number of students to warrant a class or if funds for such a class are unavailable. The parties hereunto agree that the Teacher is employed in the position of , and is to perform the duties of such position for the school year 20 at the yearly contract salary of $ on the basis of the adopted calendar to be paid in not less than twelve (12) substantially equal installments, paid once each month commencing in September of the school year. 2. The Teacher shall perform the duties and services necessary to the position for which employed, shall make and file reports required by the board or Superintendent, shall cooperate with the administrators in the development and execution of the teaching program, and shall perform such other services as may be mutually agreed upon by the Board and Teacher. In the event the employment of Teacher hereunder should be terminated, as provided by law, prior to the expiration of the school year, the salary as hereinbefore specified shall be adjusted and paid on the basis of an amount which, together with the compensation heretofore paid, shall be equal in the same proportion of the total salary above specified as the number of days of actual duty prior to the effective date of termination shall bear to the number of duty days of the school year as defined in Paragraph One of this contract and further defined and scheduled by the Board Policy Handbook. E. The Teacher and Board expressly agree that the policies and regulations which are established and the Board Policy Handbook, and which are applicable to Teachers, shall be a part hereof. F. A faculty member cannot be assigned more than ten (10) credit hours of concurrent instruction, exclusive of independent study, without the written consent of the Vice President of Teaching, Learning and Student Development. Summer School Contracts. The Administration reserves the right to determine the need and to contract or not to contract summer school teachers to contracts that exceed the negotiated calendar. Letters of intent shall be sent to prospective summer school teachers prior to the end of the school year. Issuance of contracts is depend- ent upon program needs as determined by the Administration. Summer school contracts shall be separate contracts. Such contracts shall be issued during the first week of the individual‟s assigned du- ties. Payment for summer school contracts shall be based on the salary schedule (see Appendix E).
Summer School Contracts. Special Education Teachers additional in-service day: All West Central Kansas Special Education Cooperative certified staff will receive one extended contract day for the purpose of attending the WCKSEC in-service. Pay for the extended contracts will be based upon the teacher’s daily rate of pay and will be in addition to any other extended contract days. Attendance at the WCKSEC special education in-service is required and compensation for this extended contract will be based upon attendance and prorated based upon the negotiated teacher duty day of 7.25 hours.
