Sample Collection Kits and Transport Packaging. Sample collection will be undertaken by prison staff, using materials supplied. These must satisfy the following criteria: the sample containers and transport packaging must be of suitable construction so as to prevent the possibility of leaks or contamination to the sample collector, courier and laboratory personnel; sample containers must meet the minimum requirements for the method of sample transport proposed. Proposals must state clearly the minimum requirement and demonstrate compliance. Legislation for the transport of biological specimens must be adhered to as must any subsequent changes to legislation or requirements; the collection kit, at a minimum, must consist of a sterile urine collection beaker and two sterile specimen transport tubes. The collection beaker must have a temperature measurement strip attached capable of measuring the temperature of freshly obtained human urine. The specimen collection tubes must be capable of being sealed in such a way that it is self evident that tampering has taken place or the outer packaging must be tamper proof. It is likely that each set of samples will be sealed in individual evidence bags; the specimen containers must be suitable for the long-term storage of the sample (one year) at -10°C; evidence must be submitted to prove that there is no significant binding of the MDT panel of drugs to the walls of the sample container at the relevant storage temperatures; the specimen transport tubes must contain sufficient volume to allow the screening tests to be carried out and up to 3 confirmation tests; outer packaging should be provided that is compatible with the method of transport proposed and meets any legislative requirement. It will not be sufficient for samples to be transported only in the original evidence bag. Proposals should be made for simultaneous packaging of 10-15 evidence bags (each of which contains two samples). Proposals should state clearly the requirement and how they will be met; a full specification must be provided for each of the products proposed as part of the sample collection and packaging system. This will include the full composition of materials used for all components. Twelve sets of proposed kits must also be provided with the proposal; prisons must be provided with sufficient and timely supplies of kits and forms to allow them to operate their MDT programme without hindrance. The collection kit and the sample bottles should not alter the drug composition of the samples, the proposal must supply evidence to show that they have carried out studies that prove that the sample containers do not alter the levels of drugs in the samples.

  • Sub-processing 1. Where the data importer subcontracts its obligations under the Clauses, with the consent of the data exporter, it shall do so only by way of a written agreement with the sub-processor which imposes the same obligations on the sub-processor as are imposed on the data importer under the Clauses. For equipment only purchases, the ordering entity shall be responsible to inspect all components on delivery. Materials must be stored in original undamaged packaging in such a manner to ensure proper ventilation and drainage, and to protect against damage, weather, vandalism, and theft until ready for installation.
