Roommate Vacancies. University has final determination in filling vacancies through the consolidation process which occur in a double room prior. Resident understands that University reserves the right to charge the Resident the single room rate if the personal behavior of the Resident interferes with or thwarts the usual roommate assignment process. If a vacancy occurs in the assigned room, the remaining Resident(s) agree to accept other roommates as assigned. If occupying a double room alone, the Resident agrees that they may be expected to move to another room or accept a roommate on a forty-eight (48) hours notice or pay the single rate. SOU reserves the right and discretion to determine the appropriate use of all vacant space.

Roommate Vacancies. In all cases where a Room is occupied by two or more residents, each occupant will be charged the appropriate double- or triple-Room rate. When a vacancy occurs in a double or triple Room, University Housing reserves the right to require of the remaining resident(s) one or more of the following options depending upon administrative needs:
Roommate Vacancies. When a vacancy occurs in a multiple occupancy room, the remaining occupant(s) must be willing to accept a new roommate or move into another room where there is a vacancy. If there are no other multiple occupancy rooms with vacancies, the student(s) occupying the multiple-occupant room alone will continue to be charged the multiple rate as long as they occupy only half of the space. If there are other roommate options or other multiple-occupant rooms in which to move, and the occupant(s) chooses not to accept either alternative, he/she/they may be subject to the University conduct process for failure to comply with a University directive and may also receive additional housing fees and/or fines. Freshmen cannot have single status except by permission of the Office of Residence Life. Sophomores are allowed single status beginning spring semester or by permission of the Office of Residence Life. If single occupancy is desired, the student will be charged the single-room rate and moved to a room subject to conditions in section #7. If there is a vacancy in a student’s room during this contract, refusal (including, but not limited to verbal, behavioral, or other means of rejection) of a roommate, unwillingness to work with the Office of Residence Life in finding a roommate, or if the room is not ready (the definition of ready is bed, desk, drawers, wardrobe, bookshelf, and half the walls free of any items) for an incoming student, the student(s) may be subject to the University conduct process for failure to comply with a University directive and may also receive additional housing fees and/or fines.
Roommate Vacancies. When a vacancy occurs in a multiple occupancy room and continued multiple status is desired, the remaining occupant must actively participate in finding a new roommate; move into another room where there is a vacancy; or occupy only half of the room to allow for another roommate assignment. If the room is designated as a multiple occupancy room, and the remaining occupant desires to use the entire room rather than move or accept a new roommate, the single room rate will be applied, provided space is available. Students may be moved to a new room subject to conditions in section 8 above. If there is a vacancy in a student’s room during this contract, refusal (including, but not limited to verbal, behavioral, or other means of rejection) of a roommate or unwillingness to work with the Office of Residence Life in finding a roommate will result in single occupancy status and single occupancy charges will be applied. Refusal of a roommate, as it is defined above, may also result in a new living assignment (to another room) and/or disciplinary action. University personnel will check all rooms with vacancies. If a room is not ready (the definition of ready is bed, desk and drawers, wardrobe, bookshelf, and half the wall space free of any items) for an incoming student, the remaining student(s) will be charged the single or higher room rate. Photos/video may be taken of rooms deemed not ready for purposes of documentation only.

  • JOB VACANCIES Vacancies or new positions shall be awarded to the senior employee applicant where the employee currently possesses the necessary capabilities to perform the work. Qualifications for the job shall be posted by the Employer, and the posting shall include the shift and number of hours for the position. No employee shall be eligible to bid on a job vacancy or new position until the employee has worked in the employee's existing job for a minimum of one hundred eighty (180) days. The provisions of the preceding sentence shall not apply when employees bid on vacancies or new positions in the employee's same classification. All vacancies shall be bulletined for a minimum of five (5) calendar days, and notice of the same furnished to the Union at the same time. Each Hospital shall develop a system to ensure that only applicants signing the posting during the five calendar day posting period will be considered. Temporary assignments may be made during such posting period only; provided assignments to a new classification may be on a temporary basis for ten (10) days. If a question arises as to the capability of an employee to perform the employee's duties after the above herein procedure has been used, that question, and any other question incidental thereto pertaining to the employee's classification and rate of pay, shall be settled by mutual agreement between the Employer and the Union. If such questions cannot be so settled, they shall be settled by arbitration as provided in Article 2. In filling vacancies or new positions, senior employees in the classification where the vacancy or new position is located shall be given preference. In the event that the vacant or new position cannot be filled with a qualified employee from that classification then qualified applicants from other classifications within the bargaining unit will be considered based on bargaining unit seniority.

  • Vacancies Whenever a vacancy in the Board of Trustees shall occur, the remaining Trustees may fill such vacancy by appointing an individual having the qualifications described in this Article by a written instrument signed by a majority of the Trustees then in office or may leave such vacancy unfilled or may reduce the number of Trustees; provided the aggregate number of Trustees after such reduction shall not be less than the minimum number required by Section 2.1 hereof; provided, further, that if the Shareholders of any class or series of Shares are entitled separately to elect one or more Trustees, a majority of the remaining Trustees or the sole remaining Trustee elected by that class or series may fill any vacancy among the number of Trustees elected by that class or series.   • Permanent Vacancies When a permanent job or vacancy occurs in a position previously held by a bargaining unit member, or a newly created position within the bargaining unit, notice of the job or vacancy shall be posted on the bulletin board in each building in which bargaining unit personnel work for ten (10) working days, and a copy mailed to the local Association Xxxxxxx. For purposes of this section, the addition of more regularly scheduled hours to an existing part-time position will be considered to be a vacancy if the additional hours cause the part-time position to become a full-time position. A copy of the vacancy notice shall also be sent to each bargaining unit member who is laid off. A permanent job or vacancy does not include vacancies caused by leaves of absence. The Employer, in its sole discretion, shall determine if a vacancy exists which is to be filled under this Section. Employees interested in the job posting may file a written application with the Employer by the deadline established in the posting. The Employer shall give due consideration to all applicants for the permanent vacancy, including applicants from outside the bargaining unit. In considering an applicant's qualifications to perform the required work, the Employer shall consider the employee's ability, experience, training, productivity, seniority, work performance, work record and dependability. The applicant considered by the Employer in its sole discretion to be the best qualified shall be awarded the permanent vacancy; provided, however, that if the Employer determines that the qualifications of the applicants who meet the qualifications for the job or vacancy are equal, the applicant with the greatest seniority shall be awarded the position. The Employer reserves the right to determine that none of the applicants are qualified and leave the position open or to seek further applicants.
