REQUESTING VACATION LEAVE. Employees shall request specific dates for vacation by January 15 each year, whenever possible. As long as employees request vacation leave by January 15, seniority shall be the basis for resolving any conflicting requests for vacation time off.

REQUESTING VACATION LEAVE a) If any request for leave is denied, the Executive Director or Assistant Executive Director shall provide written rationale for the denial.
REQUESTING VACATION LEAVE. All vacation time must be approved by supervisor in advance of taking it. Employees requesting to use vacation time shall sign up with their Department Head during the month of January for the use of seven (7) or more consecutive days during the twelve month period (March through February) following the end of the sign-up period. In case of conflicting requests of two or more persons in the same department, mini-branch or bookmobile, requests shall be granted on the basis of bargaining unit seniority. Approval of such requests shall be subject to the staffing needs of the Library. Employees requesting to use vacation time shall sign up with their Department Head during the month of February for use of six (6) days or less during the twelve month period (March through February) following the end of the sign-up period. In case of conflicting requests of two or more persons in the same department, mini-branch, or bookmobile, requests shall be granted on the basis of bargaining unit seniority. Approval of such requests shall be subject to the staffing needs of the Library. An employee who fails to submit a request for vacation during this sign-up period forfeits seniority rights with respect to those requests which have been granted during the request period. Vacation requests after the sign-up period will be granted on a first-come, first- serve basis. Bargaining unit seniority will be the determining factor if more than one employee asks for the same time off in the same day. Further, if any employee wishes to change his/her vacation, changes may be approved at the discretion of the Library. When requesting vacation leave for periods of one (1) week or more after the January sign-up, vacation leave shall be requested at least thirty (30) days in advance and may be approved at the discretion of the Library. The above articles shall pertain to part-time or full-time employees.

  • Annual Vacation Leave 33.01 An Employee shall not take vacation leave without prior authorization from the Employer.

  • Vacation Leave Maximum Employees may accumulate maximum vacation leave balances not to exceed two hundred and forty (240) hours. However, there are two (2) exceptions that allow vacation leave to accumulate above the maximum:

  • VACATION LEAVE WITH PAY 14.01 The vacation year shall be from April 1st of one calendar year to March 31st of the following calendar year inclusive.

  • Transition Leave At the Appointing Authority’s discretion an employee under notice of permanent layoff may be granted up to one hundred and sixty (160) hours of paid leave, ending at the date of layoff. Hours of leave may be granted at any time throughout the layoff notice period and shall not be subject to the Application and Reinstatement provision of this Article.

  • Restoration of Vacation Leave In the event an employee is injured or becomes ill while on vacation leave, the employee may submit a written request to use sick leave and have the equivalent amount of vacation leave restored. The supervisor may require a written medical certificate.

  • Recall from Vacation The Employer will make every reasonable effort not to recall an Employee to duty after she has proceeded on vacation leave or to cancel vacation once it has been approved.
