Payment for Unused Personal Leave. If a member is laid off, terminated, or separates service, the member will be compensated for unused personal leave at the rate of pay at the time of the layoff, termination or separation. The member must provide at least ten (10) calendar days’ written notice prior to resignation in order to receive this compensation. In the event of a member's death, such compensation shall be paid to the member's surviving spouse, or secondarily, to his or her estate. A member will not be compensated for unused personal leave if he or she resigns or is terminated within his/her one (1) year probationary period.

Automatic payment will be made for the number days. Payment for said leave to be included in the employee's last paycheck for the contract year.
