Paraeducator Professional Development Sample Clauses

The Paraeducator Professional Development clause establishes requirements and provisions for ongoing training and skill enhancement for paraeducators. Typically, this clause outlines the types of professional development activities that must be offered, such as workshops, in-service training, or continuing education, and may specify the frequency or minimum hours required. By ensuring paraeducators receive regular, relevant training, the clause helps maintain high standards of support for students and addresses the need for paraeducators to stay current with educational practices and policies.
Paraeducator Professional Development. The District shall provide and require the training hours for employees meeting the Washington State definition of instructional paraeducator to achieve the fundamental course of study requirements and the general certification requirements. Additionally, once instructional paraeducators complete the general certification, they may continue to use their professional development time for the specialty certifications and the advanced certification as long as the State is providing funding for professional development time for paraeducator certifications. The District and the Union will meet and discuss the implementation of an annual professional development and training plan through the labor management process.
Paraeducator Professional Development. Contingent on the continuing availability of state funding specifically for this purpose, the District shall provide fourteen hours of training each school year for employees meeting the Washington State definition of instructional paraeducator to fulfill the fundamental course of study requirements and the general paraeducator certificate requirements. Should the State of Washington change the professional development requirements for paraeducators the parties shall meet to discuss and bargain the impacts.
