Long Adoption Leave. An employee may take long adoption leave to which he or she is entitled at any time within 12 months after the day of placement of the child.

Long Adoption Leave. To be entitled to long adoption leave during a period, an eligible employee must also give the employer, at the required time, a written application containing the required information, in accordance with section 306 of the Act.
Long Adoption Leave. In accordance with section 303 of the Act, a period of long adoption leave taken by an employee must not include any period during which his or her spouse is taking adoption leave, or any other authorised leave of the same type as adoption leave, because of the placement of the child.
Long Adoption Leave. Long adoption leave is a longer period of continuous leave, taken after the date of placement of the child, for the purposes of being the child’s primary caregiver. Long adoption leave may be taken at any time within the 12 months following the placement of the child, but cannot be taken concurrently with any adoption leave taken by the employee’s spouse. A written application for long adoption leave, stating the commencement and end dates of the leave, must be made at least ten weeks prior to the date on which the employees proposes to commence the leave. The employee must provide a statutory declaration giving the particulars of the adoption leave to be taken by the employee’s spouse, and confirming that the employee intends to be the child’s primary caregiver for the duration of the long adoption leave.
Long Adoption Leave the Employee is entitled to up to 52 weeks unpaid leave to be the primary care giver to the child– only three weeks of Long Adoption Leave may be taken concurrently with the Employee’s partner when that partner is taking Short Adoption Leave.
Long Adoption Leave. If an employee wishes to take long adoption leave, he or she must give the company a written application at least 10 weeks before the first day of the adoption leave stating the first and last days of the intended adoption leave.

  • Adoption Leave (a) The employee will notify the employer at least ten weeks in advance of the date of commencement of adoption leave and the period of leave to be taken. An employee may commence adoption leave prior to providing such notice, where through circumstances beyond the control of the employee, the adoption of a child takes place earlier.

  • Maternity/Adoption Leave An employee who is pregnant and who has three (3) months or more of continuous service with the Company shall be granted leave of absence under the terms and conditions of the Employment Standards Act except as herein otherwise provided:

  • Parental/Adoption Leave (a) A nurse who has been employed for at least thirteen (13) weeks and who is a parent of a child is entitled to parental leave without pay following the birth of the child or the coming of the child into the custody, care and control of a parent for the first time, shall be entitled to thirty-seven (37) weeks (provided the employee did not take pregnancy leave) of parental/adoption leave of absence without pay in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act of Ontario as may be amended from time to time, except as hereunder set out in this article.

  • Parental Leave/Adoption Leave An employee will be granted unpaid parental leave for a period up to and including thirty-five (35) weeks, upon request and verification of:

  • Election Leave Employees shall be allowed four (4) consecutive hours off before the closing of polls in any federal, provincial election.

  • Maternity/Paternity/Adoption Leave An Employee who is expecting the birth or adoption of a child shall be entitled to maternity/paternity/adoption leave without pay, provided she presents a medical certificate confirming the probable date of confinement, or in the case of adoption, gives the Employer notice of eligibility. Except in extenuating circumstances, the notice shall be submitted in writing at least twenty-eight (28) days in advance of the leave and shall specify the probable date of commencement and the anticipated length of leave. The following conditions shall apply:

  • Maternity/Parental/Adoption Leave Maternity/Parental/Adoption leave shall be granted as a right as per the Employment Standards Act.

  • Graduation Leave It is understood that in the case of secondary or post secondary graduation of self or spouse, son or daughter, one day leave with pay shall be granted. Two (2) days leave with pay shall be granted where travel arrangements necessitate such absence from school.

  • ’ Compensation Leave If such determination cannot readily be made and all healthcare leave or annual leave subject to 100% payoff has been applied to the absence, the employee shall be placed on Official Leave until a final determination is made.

  • Maternity and Adoption Leave 1. The employer pays salary for three (3) months on the basis of the average salary for the six (6) previous months.
