LEAVE - JURY DUTY. 27.1 Where an employee is absent by reason of a summons to serve as a juror or a subpoena as a witness, the employee may, at his or her option:
LEAVE - JURY DUTY. In the event an Employee is selected to serve on a jury during the school year, the Board will continue to pay the Employee’s regular rate of pay for the period the Employee is on jury duty.
LEAVE - JURY DUTY. A Request for Time Off must be submitted to your Immediate Supervisor. An employee who is serving on jury duty will be granted the leave with pay and the employee shall reimburse the District the amount of jury duty compensation received not to exceed their normal pay rate. If jury duty is completed prior to the closing of their work day, the employee will contact his/her supervisor to determine whether he/she should return to the school building for assignment until the close of the normal work day. Evening shift employees should report to work as scheduled unless the employee served in jury duty for a period of more than four (4) hours on the day of scheduled work.
LEAVE - JURY DUTY. In the event a Teacher is selected to serve on a jury during the school year, the Board will continue to pay the Teacher’s full salary for the period the Teacher is on jury duty. No Teacher will be required to return any government payment(s) or reimbursements received for jury duty.
LEAVE - JURY DUTY. If a unit member serves on jury duty, the Board will grant the leave with pay as per contract salary and the unit member shall reimburse the District in the amount equal to the jury duty compensation received. If daily jury duty is completed prior to the closing of the school day, the unit member will return to his/her job until the close of the normal school day. Jury duty leave is not to be deducted as sick leave or personal days.

  • ARTICLE JURY DUTY (a) Where an employee is required by subpoena to attend a court of law or xxxxxxx's inquest in connection with a case arising from the employee's duties on the premises of the Employer on his regularly scheduled day off, the Employer will attempt to reschedulethe employee's regular day off, it being understoodthat any rescheduling shall not result in the payment of any premium pay. Where the Employer is unable to reschedule the employee and, as a result, he is required to attend on a regular day off he shall be paid for all hours actually spent at such hearing at his regular straight time hourly rate. It is agreed if this occurs on the employee's scheduledworking day the employee will be paid as above. An employee requiredto servejury duty shall be paid the difference betweenwhat he would have earned for his scheduled hours, (without taking into account any shift premium or the like) and the fees received pursuant to the performance of jury duty. This will be affected by the employee signing over his jury fees less expense money received from the authorities for meals and lodging and the Employer will continue the regular salary payments. The employee is to notify his supervisor as soon as possible after receipt of notice of selection for jury duty. The employee will come to work during those regularly scheduled hours that he is not required to attend at court.

  • EMPLOYEE JURY SERVICE (check one or more boxes) Contractors with original or amended contracts in excess of $100,000 must have and adhere to a written policy that provides its employees living in San Mateo County up to five days regular pay for actual jury service in the County.   • Jury Duty 31.1 An employee who is summoned for jury duty and is required to lose time from his assignment as a result thereof, shall be paid for actual time lost with a maximum of one basic day's pay at the straight time rate of his position for each day lost, less the amount allowed him for jury duty for each such day excluding allowances paid by the court for meals, lodging or transportation, subject to the following requirements and limitations:

Contractor agrees to waive in advance any defenses of lack of personal jurisdiction or improper venue in any such court.

  • CHOICE OF LAW: VENUE This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Venue and jurisdiction of any suit or cause of action arising under or in connection with the Agreement shall lie exclusively in Xxxxxx County, Texas. Disputes between END USER and Contractor are to be resolved in accordance with the law and venue rules of the state of purchase. Contractor shall immediately notify H-GAC of such disputes.

  • Applicable Law; Venue This Agreement shall be construed and enforced in accordance with the laws of the State of New York without giving effect to conflict of laws. In the event of any dispute under this Agreement, then and in such event, each party hereto agrees that the dispute shall either be (i) resolved through final and binding arbitration in accordance with the International Arbitration Rules of the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) or (ii) brought and enforced in the courts of the State of New York, County of New York under the accelerated adjudication procedures of the Commercial Division, or the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, in each event at the discretion of the party initiating the dispute. Once a party files a dispute (if arbitration, by sending JAMS a Demand for Arbitration) with one of the above forums, the parties agree that all issues regarding such dispute or this Agreement must be resolved before such forum rather than seeking to resolve it through another alternative forum set forth above. In the event the dispute is brought before the AAA, the arbitration shall be brought before the AAA International Center for Dispute Resolution’s offices in New York City, New York, will be conducted in English and will be decided by a panel of three arbitrators selected from the AAA Commercial Disputes Panel. Each of the parties agrees that the decision and/or award made by the arbitrators shall be final and enforceable by any court having jurisdiction over the party from whom enforcement is sought. Furthermore, the parties to any such arbitration shall be entitled to make one motion for summary judgment within 60 days of the commencement of the arbitration, which shall be decided by the arbitrator[s] prior to the commencement of the hearings. In the event the dispute is brought by a party in the courts of the State of New York or the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, each party irrevocably submits to such jurisdiction, which jurisdiction shall be exclusive. Each party hereby waives any objection to such exclusive jurisdiction and that such courts represent an inconvenient forum. Any such process or summons to be served upon a party may be served by transmitting a copy thereof by registered or certified mail, postage prepaid, addressed to such party at the address set forth at the beginning of this Agreement. Such mailing shall be deemed personal service and shall be legal and binding upon the party being served in any action, proceeding or claim. The parties agree that the prevailing party(ies) in any such action shall be entitled to recover from the other party(ies) all of its reasonable attorneys’ fees and expenses relating to such action or proceeding and/or incurred in connection with the preparation therefor.

  • Witness or Jury Duty Employees called to serve on juries or to obey a subpoena shall receive their regular salaries during such periods, less the fees received for such service provided the employee returns to work if they are released from jury duty prior to 1:00 p.m. An employee serving on a jury will not be assigned to work on evenings or weekends during such jury service.

  • Laws and Venue This Agreement shall be interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of California. If any action is brought to interpret or enforce any term of this Agreement, the action shall be brought in a state or federal court situated in the County of Santa Xxxxx, State of California.
