Illness/Disability/Jury Duty. 10.1 At the beginning of each semester, the District shall credit each teacher with sick leave equal to the weekly hourly total of his/her assignment. Sick leave credit may accumulate without limit. The District shall charge a teacher sick leave based on the number of hours s/he was scheduled to work on the day(s) of absence. Sick & Personal Business time balances will be given to each teacher at the beginning of each semester, and shall be available for individual members with a three (3) day notice.

Upon separation of employment, excluding employee dismissal, any W-WEA/ECE employee, with 0-5 years of District service, shall be paid an amount equal to the employee’s total number of accumulated sick days multiplied by $20. For employees with 6 or more years of District experience, the employee shall be paid an amount equal to the employee’s total number of accumulated sick days multiplied by $30. The District shall charge a teacher sick leave based on the number of hours s/he was scheduled to work on the day(s) of absence. Days will be credited monthly to the sick leave account of the teacher. In addition, the unused portion of each teacher’s sick leave shall accumulate from year- to-year without limit. Upon separation of employment, excluding employee dismissal, any W-WEA/ECE employee, with 0-5 years of District service, shall be paid an amount equal to the employee’s total number of accumulated sick days multiplied by $40. For employees with 6 or more years of District experience, the employee shall be paid an amount equal to the employee’s total number of accumulated sick days multiplied by $60.

Teachers employed after the beginning of the school year shall be credited, upon employment, with the appropriate prorata of ten sick leave days. For example, a teacher hired in November will be credited with eight sick leave days for the remainder of the year. Teachers employed less than full time shall be credited, upon employment, with the appropriate prorata of ten sick leave days according to the time they work. For example, a teacher with a .6 assignment will be credited with six sick leave days for the year. Sick leave for a part time teacher shall be debited from his/her paid leave account on a prorata basis according to the amount of time s/he works. For example, a teacher with a .6 assignment will be debited .6 of a sick leave day for each work day on sick leave.

  • Illness or Disability If, because of Employee’s illness or other disability for a continuous period of more than 45 days, Employee is unable to render the services required by the Company as provided herein, the Company may terminate Employee’s employment hereunder by written notice to Employee at least 30 days in advance of such termination. Upon such termination Employee shall not be entitled to any further payments of any nature, except for payment of (a) any earned but unpaid Annual Base Salary, (b) any unpaid bonuses and (c) unreimbursed business expenses (collectively, “Payable Amounts”). All Payable Amounts shall become due and payable on the date of such termination.

  • Personal Illness or Disability The bargaining unit member may use all or any portion of his leave to recover from his/her own illness or disability.

  • Maternity Disability Leave 14.1.13.1 This leave commences with the onset of disablement due to pregnancy. The employee may claim sick leave pay and/or extended disability pay for no more than that limited period of time when the employee’s physician certified in writing on the form provided by the District that she was actually physically disabled from performing her duties because of pregnancy, miscarriage, childbirth, or recovery there from.

  • Short-Term Disability Leave In order to access short-term disability leave, medical confirmation may be requested and shall be provided on the form attached as Appendix “C” to this Agreement. In either instance where an Employee does not provide medical confirmation as requested, or otherwise declines to participate and/or cooperate in the administration of the Sick Leave Plan, access to compensation may be suspended or denied. Before access to compensation is denied, discussion will occur between the union and the school board. Compensation will not be denied for the sole reason that the medical practitioner refuses to provide the required medical information. A school board may require an independent medical examination to be completed by a medical practitioner qualified in respect of the illness or injury of the Board’s choice at the Board’s expense. In cases where the Employee’s failure to cooperate is the result of a medical condition, the Board shall consider those extenuating circumstances in arriving at a decision.

  • Duty Disability (1) For Calendar Year 2018, 2019, and 2020 Depending on the individual's single/family enrollment status, the cost of coverage for individuals receiving a duty disability retirement allowance shall be as provided in subsection 3.a.(1) of this Article, above.

  • Total Disability (a) Total disability, as used in this Plan, means the complete inability because of an accident or sickness of a covered employee to perform all the duties of his/her own occupation for the first two (2) years of disability. Thereafter, employees able by reason of education, training or experience to perform the duties of a gainful occupation for which the rate of pay is not less than seventy-five percent (75%) of the current rate of pay of their regular occupation at date of disability will not be considered totally disabled and will therefore not be eligible for benefits under this Long Term Disability Plan.

  • Definition of Total Disability Total disability means that the employee is unable, because of sickness or accident, to perform the duties of their regular occupation. This definition applies for the first twenty-four (24) months of payments. After this time, the inability to perform an occupation for which the employee is reasonably fitted by training, education or experience will constitute total disability. It is not required that an employee be confined to home, but they must be under the regular care of a physician.

  • Pregnancy Disability Leave A. Leave for pregnancy or childbirth related disability is in addition to any leave granted under FMLA or WFLA.

  • Extended Disability Leave a. Due to a medical disability, an employee shall be granted an extended leave of absence without pay (subject to Paragraph d hereof) if any one of the following conditions exists:

  • Work-related Injury/Disability An employee who receives an Employer Contribution and who is off the State payroll due to a work-related injury or a work-related disability remains eligible for an Employer Contribution as long as such an employee receives workers' compensation payments. If such employee ceases to receive workers' compensation payments for the injury or disability and is granted a medical leave under Article 10, he/she shall be eligible for an Employer contribution during that leave.
