Personal and Family Illness Days. At the beginning of each school year, each teacher shall be credited with ten (10) sick leave days. In addition, the unused portion of each teacher's sick leave shall accumulate from year-to-year without limit. Teachers employed after the beginning of the school year shall be credited, upon employment, with the appropriate pro-rata of ten sick leave days. For example, a teacher hired in November will be credited with eight sick leave days for the remainder of the year. Teachers employed less than full time shall be credited, upon employment, with the appropriate pro-rata of ten sick leave days according to the time they work. For example, a teacher with a .6 assignment will be credited with six sick leave days for the year. Xxxx leave for a part time teacher shall be debited from his/her paid leave account on a pro-rata basis according to the amount of time s/he works. For example, a teacher with a .6 assignment will be debited .6 of a sick leave day for each work day on sick leave.

  • Personal Illness Employees may use accumulated sick leave for hours off due to personal illness. The employee may be required to furnish a medical certificate from a qualified physician as evidence of illness or physical disability in order to qualify for paid sick leave as per District practice. Accumulated sick leave may also be granted for such time as is actually necessary for office visits to a doctor, dentist, optometrist, etc.

  • Personal Illness or Disability The bargaining unit member may use all or any portion of his leave to recover from his/her own illness or disability.

  • Family Illness The start of a family leave for a serious health condition of a family member shall begin on the date requested by the employee or designated by Management.

  • Personal/Xxxxx’s Leave 7.3.1 All full time employees shall be entitled to accrue paid personal / carer's leave on the basis of 10 days per year (or pro-rata thereof for any period less than one year). Part-time employees are entitled to a pro-rata benefit. Paid personal / carer's leave is cumulative.

  • Family Illness Leave An employee will be granted leave of absence for up to five (5) days per year without loss of pay or benefits for family illness. Additional family illness leave may be granted by the employer.

  • Personal Business Day On April 01 of each fiscal year, one (1) day (eight (8) hours) of paid leave will be credited to employees for use in personal or special circumstances. At no time will an employee have a credit of more than ten (10) Personal Business Days. The granting of such personal leave will be subject to normal approval by supervision subject to operational requirements, and will not be unreasonably withheld. Upon termination of employment with the Company, unused day(s) will be paid off at the employee's current salary in effect at the time.

  • Personal Accident On payment of a Claim under Benefit II (a): Death or Permanent Total Disablement, the cover will cease in respect of that Insured Person.
