Hours of Work and Rostered Days Off (RDO's) Sample Clauses

Hours of Work and Rostered Days Off (RDO's). The parties recognise the requirement to organise RDO’s to provide improved work life balance for Employees, to minimise fatigue, and to provide flexibility for the Company and Employees. As such, structured RDO calendars will be established for each site, based on operational requirements, and in consultation with Employees. Notwithstanding, it is acknowledged by the Parties that Employees may be required to undertake work on rostered RDOs to meet the Company’s operational requirements. Full-time employees shall generally work 8 ordinary hours per working weekday for a typical working week of given days. The employer will then bank 4 hours per week into an RDO accrual account held by the employer. Full-time employees will be paid 36 hours ordinary time. The accrual of 4 hours per week is taken for 52 weeks per year to make 26 RDO days per year and is drawn against to pay for RDO days when they are taken. When employees take an RDO day, they will draw 8 hours from the accrual account for each RDO taken but they will still bank 4 RDO hours back into the account in that week. Similarly, if the employee takes a whole week of RDO time, then he or she will draw 8 hours of RDO time for each day and will still bank 4 RDO hours into his/her RDO account for that week. This ensures 36 hours of ordinary pay for that week. All full-time employees will bank a minimum of four hours into the RDO account for every calendar week or part-week they work, regardless of whether it is work time, personal/carer’s leave time, compassionate leave, holiday leave or RDO leave. Banked RDO’s accrued to the end of November each year will be paid out at Christmas. A minimum of 16 RDO hours will be retained in the bank.
