Frozen Seniority. In regard to transfers or promotions out of the bargaining unit, an employee who is transferred or promoted to a position under the employer not included in the bargaining unit shall be given a trial period of up to sixty (60) work days, during which time he shall be entitled to transfer back to his former job and location. His seniority will continue to accumulate during this time, and a substitute employee may be utilized to fill the vacated position during the trial period. In the event the employee remains on his new job beyond the trial period, his accumulated seniority on his former job will be frozen as of the date of completion of his trial period. If the employee is allowed to re-enter the bargaining unit by applying for and being granted a position by management, his frozen seniority will be reinstated.

Frozen Seniority. Seniority will not accrue when an employee accepts a temporary position / acting assignment outside of the bargaining unit. Seniority accumulated as at the date of transfer to the temporary position will be retained and reactivated upon the employee’s return to the bargaining unit provided the employee has not been in a non-bargaining unit position for a period greater than twenty-four months and provided s/he continues to pay dues to the CUPE 503 during his/her tenure outside of the bargaining unit.

  • Super Seniority In the event of a layoff, the Plant Chairperson, Committeepersons and Stewards shall have super seniority.

  • Seniority Frozen When an Agency intends to initiate a layoff, the Agency will notify the Union in writing that all seniority will be frozen from the date of notice for a period not to exceed three (3) months. However, during the period when seniority is frozen, the employee will continue to accumulate time towards seniority for purposes of future computations.   • Departmental Seniority Departmental seniority is defined as the length of employment within the employee’s current department. Department seniority shall accrue as of the first day of employment or transfer into a new department.

  • SENIORITY, LAYOFF, RECALL Employees will be laid off or reduced to part-time when necessary in reverse order of seniority providing the senior employee possesses the required qualifications and demonstrated ability to perform the necessary job functions after a thirty (30) day familiarization period. Employees will be recalled to work in order of seniority providing the senior employee possesses the required qualifications and demonstrated ability to perform the necessary job functions within a thirty (30) day familiarization period.

  • CASUAL SENIORITY EMPLOYEE LIST On or before September 1, 2016, School Boards shall establish a seniority list for casual/temporary employees, where a list does not currently exist. This will be a separate list from permanent employees and shall have as its sole purpose to track length of service with the Board. Further, the list shall have no other force or effect on local collective agreements other than those that may already exist for casual/temporary employees in the 2008-12 local collective agreement.
