College Training. An employee must have the equivalent of a major or minor in the particular field in which the majority of his/her time shall be devoted for a position in a junior or senior high school and at least 15 quarter hours of college credit in the fields of elementary reading, elementary language arts, or children's literature, and at least one college-level course in at least three of the following six areas: elementary mathematics, elementary science, elementary social studies, elementary arts, elementary music, or elementary health and physical education for a teaching position in a primary or intermediate grade.
College Training. A teacher will be granted, with increment but without pay, a leave of absence for one (1) year, renewable for one (1) year, to engage in a full-time course of study related to a career in education at a college or university. If a teacher does not engage in a full-time course of study, as defined by the college or university, unless the college or university is not conducting the courses nor substitute courses that the teacher stated he/she planned to enroll in, that teacher shall have forfeited his/her accumulated benefits, including tenure and sick leave, and shall have forfeited his/her right to return to the District. The teacher on leave shall receive a form from the District in which the teacher will be asked to indicate whether he/she intends to return to work or seek an extension. Said form shall be sent by United States mail and be received by the teacher no later than March 1st. Any teacher on leave who fails to return the form or to notify the Department of Human Resources regarding their intent to return to work or seek an extension by April 7, forfeits their right to return to the District.

  • Cross Training (a) The parties recognize the importance of cross training to ensure that employees are properly trained for backup and for promotions. When the Employer identifies a cross training opportunity the Employer shall provide each regular employee written notification of the cross training opportunity in following with 6.02(a). The Employer undertakes to cross train employees on the basis of seniority and the ability to do the job within a reasonable period of time.

  • Staff Training VENDOR shall ensure that all staff providing direct Services receive continuing education and training as needed or required and that such education and training is documented.

  • First Aid Training In the interests of the occupational safety and health of employees, the Employer will undertake an in-service program of first aid training aimed at providing a first aid officer for each department.

  • Job Training The Employer and the Union shall establish a Joint Committee on Training and Skill Upgrading for the following purposes:

  • Driver Training A. All drivers are to be provided with appropriate training and refresher courses each year in the following areas as a minimum: * Proper use of equipment including communications equipment; * Defensive driving; * Emergency and accident procedures; * Identifying unusual passenger behavior; * Student harassment and bullying; * Conducting evacuation drills; * Sensitivity training in working with disabled persons; * Human relation skills in working with parents, school staff, etc; * General vehicle maintenance and pre-trip inspections; and * Map reading and city street coordinates. The Department of Business and Transportation Services may review Contractors’ bus driver training program, upon request.

  • Apprenticeship Training The enterprise agrees to work with the union to improve apprenticeship training and the number of apprentices in training.

  • Education and Training The foundation of this Program is education and voluntary compliance. It is recognized that alcohol and chemical dependency may make voluntary cessation of use difficult, and one of the Program’s principal aims is to make voluntary steps toward ending substance abuse easily available. The outside contractor shall review and develop on-going educational and training information on the adverse consequences of substance abuse and the responsibility to avoid being under the influence of alcohol or chemicals at work. Certain training required by the DOT Regulations shall be the responsibility of the Substance Abuse Program.

  • Compliance Training ADMINISTRATOR shall make General Compliance Training and Provider Compliance Training, where appropriate, available to Covered Individuals.

  • Union Training Conditional upon prior approval of the course content and upon receipt of certification of completion, if the employee is an elected official or xxxxxxx of the Union, the City shall reimburse the employee for up to one-half of his or her regular work time spent in such training at the employee's permanent rate of pay, not to exceed twenty (20) hours of paid leave in a calendar year.
