Association Recognition Pursuant to the certification of representatives by the Massachusetts Labor Relations Commission, Case Number MCR-2920 on October 18, 1979, and pursuant to the settlement of MUP #14-3595 on November 18, 2015 the Springfield School Committee recognized the Springfield Education Association/Massachusetts Teachers Association/National Education Association, SEA/MTA/NEA, as the exclusive bargaining agent and representative of all employees in the current Unit A, including all teachers, counselors, librarians, department heads in the elementary, K-8, Middle Schools, and Senior High Schools, therapists, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Pathologists, Speech and Language Assistants, Physical Therapists, Evaluation Team Leaders, Pupil Services Leaders, Instructional Leadership Specialists, City Connects School Site Coordinators, and teachers on leave of absence, and excluding day-to-day substitutes, all other employees and further excluding all confidential and managerial employees as defined in the Law for the purposes of collective bargaining.
