If there is no suitable volunteer, the Administrative Officer may designate an employee as Teacher in Charge.
In the event that all Administrative Officers and/or head teachers assigned to the school are absent for a half-day or more, and no other supervisory employee is designated to be in charge, the Administrative Officer shall ask for volunteers to be designated as Teacher in Charge.
A teacher may be appointed as Teacher in Charge in accordance with this Article.
The term of any individual Teacher in Charge is limited to nineteen (19) consecutive days and to not more than forty (40) days in a School Year.
Teacher in Charge A teacher who is, from time to time, left in charge of a School in circumstances where the Principal (and Deputy Principal where applicable) is absent from the premises for a whole day or more and where there is no person with classification greater than or equal to 9 leadership points, shall be paid an allowance as specified in Schedule 1 for each day of higher duties.
