VPH special issues and dissemination materials The members of the VPH XxX will publish a series of scientific papers in journals and edited books. VPH XxX participants are currently organising four special VPH-related issues in Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society A, the first two to be published in October/November 2008, with two subsequent issues in 2009. This is a leading scientific journal specifically devoted to mathematical, physical and engineering sciences, and by focussing individual volumes on a specific topic, this will raise exposure, cross-fertilisation, and provide a highly suitable means for dissemination within and outside the VPH XxX. To let all VPH members be aware of the research activities of other members, the Network will implement a database including all VPH related publications of their members. This database will be available to the international research community through a dedicated website. In order to enhance its visibility and to convey its messages efficiently towards the VPH international community, task 5.6 will also include with the design, preparation and production a wide array of dissemination material. This will spearhead the dissemination activity and will need to be coordinated to ensure the harmonisation of the different materials (listed below) with respect to the network brand image (logos, templates, presentations etc.). Production of the annual report will also fall under the responsibility of this task. The Editorial Board will play a crucial role in this activity by providing additional support in the collection of content (information, pictures) to fuel the different dissemination vectors. In particular, the Editorial Board will stimulate the collection of information for the newsletter and contribute to its periodic publication. A specific press campaign will also be set up in order to give the highest visibility to VPH results. The results of these actions will be monitored to assess their impact/enable strategy development. Poster, flyer, logo Give-away flyers and portable posters centred around the VPH XxX logo will be produced, to work on defining a strong brand image while providing general public information from the earliest stage of the project.
