Long-term Integration Sample Clauses

Long-term Integration. ‌ This section provides the global Indicators for Integration, expressed as high-level objectives, which will deeply and qualitatively change the degree of integration between academic entities in the area. Embedded systems design is a multidisciplinary area requiring competences from hardware engineering, operating systems and networks, programming and compilation, modelling and software engineering, control engineering. The ArtistDesign XxX xxxxxxx together leading European teams from all these areas. The experience within Artist2 has shown that integration is a long-term process. Nonetheless, it has been possible within a 3-year timeframe to achieve durable integration between European teams working on topics such as Control and Adaptive Real Time, Timing Analysis and Execution Platforms, Modelling and Validation. This durable integration is also visible through an organised community that has a concerted action for structuring the area, through joint workshops, conferences, schools and publications. ArtistDesign will continue and extend these activities, both quantitatively and qualitatively. In setting up the consortium, we have sought the right balance between xxxxxxxx xxxx, excellence, and commitment from the core partners. • Xxxxxxxx Xxxx It was essential to gather a sufficient number of partners, to achieve a fair coverage of the main topics in the area, as well as to have the capacity to impact the European research landscape. Nonetheless, to ensure efficiency, we have limited the number of core partners, based on previous experience. At the same time, our impact is amplified through the large number of affiliated academic, SME, industrial, and international collaboration partners. • Excellence The ArtistDesign core partners include the main European leading teams, as attested by their leadership in their respective areas, as well as their strong involvement in national and European projects and initiatives. • Commitment The majority of the ArtistDesign core partners were already involved as core partners in the Artist2 XxX. They have demonstrated a high degree of investment to achieve the workprogramme objectives, by committing the resources needed, which are an order of magnitude larger than those provided by the XxX financing. We estimate that the effort for implementing the JPA is roughly 10 times the financial contribution for integration. The momentum and willingness of the consortium to continue working together is very strong. This is a g...

Long-term Integration. The ultimate objective of the integration of the research is to form a “virtual centre of excellencebased on national resources, know-how and expertise, and having a strong coordinating structure. This centre of excellence will have the mission to carry out the commonly agreed research programmes in an optimised way in order to resolve remaining safety issues and produce highly validated and qualified tools for Level 2 PSA studies for any kind of NPP in Europe. In the first step, already achieved in the frame of SARNET, the execution of the Joint Programme of Activities allowed a progressive re-orientation of the existing national programmes and contributed to launch new ones in a more coordinated way and in accordance with the research priorities identified by the network, eliminating duplications and developing complementarities. Thanks to the acknowledged weight of SARNET, this re-orientation of programmes already applies and will still apply within SARNET2 to programmes out of the European Union (Russian ISTC projects, OECD/NEA projects, etc…). The complete integration of the experimental research capacities is necessarily more progressive. The main obstacle to the integration is the need to increase funding at national and extra-national levels in order to support the cost of the experimental programmes, notably in case of large ones. A clear policy in terms of access rights to the experimental data produced within the network is proposed to preserve the interests of the different organizations. Progress reports on restricted experimental programmes were widely disseminated in the frame of SARNET in order to promote extension of existing collaborations within other members of the network. It will be done again in the frame of SARNET2. Beyond the four-year duration of the SARNET2 project, the long-term duration of the network will be ensured by the creation of a legal entity which will allow to the partners to work together in a legally organised structure. The creation of this legal entity will constitute one of the major goals of SARNET2 at the Management (coordinator) and at the Steering Committee level. The foreseen steps – that will be more detailed after some months of operation of SARNET2 – are given in § B1.3.5 (description of WP1.3 in Management WP1). Within this legal entity, the objective will be to reach the “virtual centre of excellence” where the strong coordinating structure for work orientation could be the follow-up of the SARNET2 St...
Long-term Integration. One of the key challenges in the development of quantitative, integrative and predictive models that describe human physiology is the provision of the necessary infrastructure, including methodologies, databases and computational tools, that will allow scientists working in different scientific fields (at various physiological levels and scales) to communicate, exchanging data and technologies in a standardised manner. The scale of data to be generated, processed, and exchanged requires massive computer storage and software tools that are currently not widely available. Dissemination must also be addressed as the VPH XxX scope is by definition multidisciplinary and only a very limited number of journals currently accept physiome-related papers. Reviewers able to deal with multidisciplinary topics are also required. There is therefore clearly also a need for training of multidisciplinary individuals and VPH specialists. The objectives of the VPH XxX previously outlined in section B1.1 were drawn up bearing in mind the above, and the group of core members were brought together to meet the challenges faced. Both processes were achieved through extensive consultation with physiome researchers, including members of the STEP consortium (FP6 CA-2004-#027642) – some of whom are represented within the core VPH XxX membership. The VPH XxX core membership constitutes 13 institutions who are fully committed at the highest institutional level to the concept of the VPH XxX. They represent centres of excellence in physiological modelling; data processing and analysis; high performance computing; genomics; bioinformatics and medical informatics. Partners have shown demonstrable excellence in the development of training and dissemination activities and many have shown prior commitment to integration within the European Research Area through leadership of, or involvement in, European Commission Sixth Framework Networks of Excellence and Collaborative Projects. Many have clinical and industrial associations crucial for the creation of a VPH research environment with active end-user involvement. Common to all members, however, is the commitment of institutional infrastructure, resources and personnel to the VPH XxX, outlined in detail in the VPH XxX Consortium Agreement. The resulting “virtual centre of excellence” will strive to achieve its objectives through the joint programme of activities which, through an integrative approach to achieving targeted objectives, will optim...
