VACATION RELIEF EMPLOYEE. A. A person engaged as a Vacation Relief Employee will be informed of the nature of his/her employment at the time of his/her engagement.

VACATION RELIEF EMPLOYEE. An employee who is designated strictly to relieve for vacationing employees and shall be paid as classified in Schedule "A". Seasonal (Fruit Cake): The Employer may hire employees on a strictly seasonal basis to produce special products (fruit cakes). Such employees would be informed of their status on hiring and shall be paid as per Schedule "A" for a maximum period of 1,080 hours. Should such employees work beyond 1,080 hours they shall be paid as per the scale of regular part-time employees and shall attain seniority status. Their seniority date shall begin at the date that 1,080 hours are completed. The Schedule "A" rate for the seasonal employee shall be $10.02 per hour for the duration of the Collective Agreement. Classifications and Rates of Pay - Page 6 INDUSTRIAL MECHANIC TRAINING PROGRAM Industrial Mechanic training program and Industrial Mechanic Trainee may be started at a rate of 70% of the classified rate, except when the rate paid prior to applying for the position is greater than 70%. In such cases the trainee shall continue to be paid at the previous classified rate until the trainee schedule catches his pay rate. Training period start - 6 months Rate as % of classified rate 70% 6 months - 1 year 75% 1 year - 18 months 80% 18 months - 2 years 85% 1 years - 30 months 90% after 30 months 100% Employees may be accelerated in the program if particular aptitude and skills are exhibited.   • Sick Leave Bonus ‌ For every six (6) months of perfect sick leave attendance after July 1, 1987, the employee will receive eight (8) hours of bonus time. This bonus time will be prorated for part-time employees. Such bonus time can be used for any leave purpose covered by this Agreement. Such bonus time shall be counted as vacation leave credits for purposes of determining eligibility for carry- over and cash payments.

  • HOURS OF EMPLOYMENT SEC. 7.01.

  • Sick Leave Benefits Sick leave is an indemnity benefit and not an acquired right. A Nurse who is absent from a scheduled shift on approved sick leave shall only be entitled to sick leave pay if the Nurse is not otherwise receiving pay for that day, and providing the Nurse has sufficient sick leave credits.

  • Sick Leave Payout No cash payment for unused sick leave will be paid to any employee leaving the service of the Employer.

  • Vacation; Sick Leave During the Employment Term, the Executive shall be entitled to not less than four (4) weeks of vacation during each calendar year and sick leave in accordance with the Company’s policies and practices with respect to its executives.

  • Sick Leave Pay A Nurse granted sick leave shall be paid for the period of such leave at her or his regular hourly rate of pay and the number of hours thus paid shall be deducted from the accumulated sick leave credits of the Nurse.

  • Continuing Employment Continuing employment means full-time or part-time employment which has no fixed end date or contingency upon which the employment contract will come to an end. All employment, other than fixed term employment and casual employment, is continuing employment.

  • Sick Leave The employee is eligible for long term disability benefits if provided for in the Collective Agreement. An employee will not receive pay for the first two (2) weeks of any period of absence due to a legitimate illness. The employee may utilize the paid holiday bank as income replacement for absences due to illness, as described in Article (c) above. An employee who is eligible may apply for Employment Insurance for weeks three (3) through seventeen (17) for any absence due to a legitimate illness. The Home will provide the employee with Disability Income Protection as per Article 14.01 (c) for weeks eighteen (18) through thirty (30) for any absence due to a legitimate illness. Employees may be required to provide medical proof of illness for any absence of a scheduled shift, which is neither vacation nor an approved leave of absence.

  • Period of Employment The “Period of Employment” shall be a period of three (3) years commencing on the Effective Date and ending at the close of business on the third anniversary of the Effective Date (the “Termination Date”); provided, however, that this Agreement shall be automatically renewed, and the Period of Employment shall be automatically extended for one (1) additional year on the Termination Date and each anniversary of the Termination Date thereafter, unless either party gives written notice at least sixty (60) days prior to the expiration of the Period of Employment (including any renewal thereof) of such party’s desire to terminate the Period of Employment (such notice to be delivered in accordance with Section 18). The term “Period of Employment” shall include any extension thereof pursuant to the preceding sentence. Provision of notice that the Period of Employment shall not be extended or further extended, as the case may be, shall not constitute a breach of this Agreement and shall not constitute “Good Reason” for purposes of this Agreement. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Period of Employment is subject to earlier termination as provided below in this Agreement.

  • Sick Leave Incentive The City will institute a sick leave incentive based on the usage of the bargaining unit; further, the City will pay each person who qualifies during January of each year. The incentive will be calculated and monitored by the Personnel Department and will be based on the pay periods during a calendar year. The incentive shall be awarded only when the bargaining unit's average sick leave usage is less than the City average and the following conditions are met: When the bargaining unit's sick leave usage is greater than forty (40) hours but less than the City average, the City will pay each member using between zero (0) and sixteen (16) hours of sick leave, eight (8) hours pay and any member using more than sixteen (16) but equal to or less than twenty-four (24) hours, four (4) hours pay. When the bargaining unit's average sick leave usage is equal to or less than forty (40) hours, the City will pay each member who used between zero (0) and sixteen (16) hours, sixteen (16) hours of pay at their current hourly rate. Those members who used more than sixteen (16) but equal to or less than twenty-four (24) hours, will receive eight (8) hours of pay.
