Vacancy Replacement. 9.8.1. The Department commits to fill all base grade and other vacancies in a reasonable time.

Vacancy Replacement. W here a permanent employee leaves due to retirement, resignation, termination, transfer or p romotion they will be replaced by a permanent employee as follows: termination, transfer or promotion or within 3 days of notice given (whichever is sooner) and w ill be completed within 1 month; and/or W here an issue that can legitimately extend the time to fill arrangements set out above, for e xample genuine demonstrated reductions in workload, or seasonal issues (e.g. C hristmas/New Year closure period), a proposal from management to extend the replacement

Vacancy Replacement. If unassigned to Firefighter vacancy, Floater/Paramedics may be used to cover Paramedic vacancies on Paramedic staffed units. Paramedics will have the first right of refusal for call shift opportunities on Paramedic staffed units following the callboard rules. If no Paramedics take a given call shift, the shift may then be offered up to Firefighter/Paramedics. If a Paramedic shift goes mandatory, the Paramedic work group will be mandated to work first, then the Firefighter/Paramedic group if no Paramedics can work.

Vacancy Replacement. No vacancy in the Brampton Fire and Emergency Services that becomes vacant due to resignation, retirement, death or dismissal of an employee shall be left unfilled for a period in excess of ninety (90) days, except as agreed between the parties.

Vacancy Replacement. An employee temporarily assigned, at the direction of the Company, to a classificationother than his regular classification shall be paid his regular base hourly rate or the classification rate of the job to which he is transferred, whichever is higher. Such temporary transfer be paid for the entire shift. If such vacancy exceeds this period, it will be posted for job bidding as per the provisions of Article The following procedure will be used to fill short term vacancies: NOTE: Vacancies in the Utility Operator classifica- a) Utility Operators on shift will be used to fill vacancies, by seniority and by preference and this will include all critical jobs; support groups (excluding Mould Shop and Skilled Trades), which shall be filled at the discretion of the Company. The Company will fill vacancies with Utility Operators first and then by offering such transfer to senior, qualified employees on the shift, in a classification that the Company deems able to be reduced. If no employees volunteer for such transfer, the Company will transfer the junior, qualified employee in that classification. For any vacancies that remain unfilled, the Company will ask the appropriate employees for overtime. The Company will ensure that overtime is called by the lowest hours in the vacancy that exists (excluding Utility Operator); if a Utility Operator has been temporarily assigned to this vacancy; they will be moved to another vacancy.

Vacancy Replacement. Whenever the District fills a vacant position on a temporary promotion basis, the employee will earn appropriate compensation immediately upon assignment to the vacant position. Such compensation will continue until the vacant position is filled or the assignment is withdrawn. If a vacancy is filled by employment outside of the classified service, that appointment may continue until the position is filled, or 195 days, whichever comes first.

Vacancy Replacement. This is clause 9.8 of the current agreement. There are no changes to these clauses.
