Technological Change - Transfer Arrangements. An Employee who is rendered redundant or displaced from her job as a result of technological change shall be given an opportunity to fill any vacancy for which she has seniority and in which she is able to perform the work. If there is no vacancy, she shall have the right to access the Lay-off and Recall provisions as per Article 14.

Technological Change - Transfer Arrangements. An employee who is displaced from his job by virtue of technological change or improvements or statutory or regulatory changes requiring different qualifications to perform the work will be given the opportunity to fill other vacancies for which he is qualified, according to his seniority. Technological Change Training Benefits In the event that the Employer should introduce new methods or machines which require new.or greater skills than are possessed by employees under the present method of operation, such employee, shall, at the expenses of the Employer, less any other allowance provided for such training by any other Government Agency, be given a period of time not to exceed one (1) year, during which they may perfect or acquire the skills necessitated by the new method of operation. There shall be no change in wage or salary rates during the training period of any such employee and no reduction in pay upon being reclassified in the new position. In the event that statutory or regulatory changes require an enhancement in qualifications to perform the work, the City agrees to meet and discuss the feasibility of training to meet the new requirements. Additional Training Should the introduction of new methods of operation or statutory or regulatory changes create a need for the perfection or acquisition of skills requiring a training period longer than one (1) year, the additional training time shall be subject to discussion between the Employer and the Union.
