Supervisor’s Allowance (taxable and superable. An allowance, equivalent to two additional steps in their current remuneration band, will be paid to Team Leaders (band I) employed in Communications Centres and to other band I and band J employees in the following supervisory positions. The rates are ($3,675) ($3,785) ($3,899) for band I and ($3,981) ($4,100) ($4,223) for band J. The allowance will continue only while the employee remains in an eligible position. Where a member is at the top of their band the allowance is paid in addition. Eligible positions are: • Supervisor CJSU • OC CJSU • Supervisor FMC • OC FMC • OC ISU • Supervisor ISU • Senior Crime Scene Examiner • District Forensic Services Supervisor If an employee acts or relieves in another position not attracting the allowance, they will continue to receive the allowance. An employee not receiving the allowance, acting or relieving in an eligible position will, for the first 3 months receive higher duties allowance (HDA) only, after 3 months 50% of the supervisor’s allowance is also paid and after 6 months the full rate applies. Where an employee relieves in a position which attracts the allowance, and is subsequently appointed to that position, the full allowance applies from the date they commenced relieving.

Sergeant and Senior Sergeant positions prescribed below with direct reports are eligible for the allowance. The allowance will continue only while the employee remains in an eligible position. Eligible positions may be added on approval of the DCE: People, in consultation with the Association, where the position is hard to fill or generally involves the supervision of five or more employees (number not absolute), and has responsibility for performance management. (Service Centre and PNHQ roles are excluded.) If a position is believed to no longer meet the criteria it will be consulted with the Association before removal from eligibility. Affected employees will retain the allowance whilst they remain in that position. An employee receiving supervisor’s allowance who acts, relieves or rotates in a position not attracting the allowance will continue to receive it.
