School Day Defined. The Board shall adjust the start and close of the school day according to the student needs, provided that the school day does not exceed seven and one-half (7-1/2) clock hours, inclusive of an average of at least a forty (40) minute duty free lunch period.

The twenty-five (25) minute duty-free lunch period is in addition to the time needed to walk students to lunch and help them through the line. Work schedules shall be made by the District, in its discretion, and such schedules may be modified by the District to meet the varying conditions and needs of the District unless specified herein.

Duty-free lunch time does not include any time staff are required to supervise students and/or perform duties. These thirty (30) minutes are in addition to the time needed to walk students to lunch and help them through the line. Exceptions may be made due to catastrophic events to prevent extending the school year.

  • Key Definitions As used herein, the following terms shall have the following respective meanings:

  • Overtime Definition Overtime shall be defined as being all hours worked in excess of the normal or standard work day, or in excess of the normal or standard work week. The overtime rate shall be one and one-half (1½) times the regular straight time hourly rate of pay. NOTE: Article 16.04 is applicable to full-time employees only.

Where one boundary of a project fronts at least one of the above streets, then such project is deemed to be within the City of Melbourne.
