Scheduling Holiday Leave. All full-time employees within the bargaining unit, with the exception of those employees shown in the following paragraphs, shall be allowed the above holidays at full pay when such holidays occur within the regularly assigned working periods, provided they are in a paid status during any portion of the working day immediately preceding or succeeding the holiday. If it becomes necessary for an employee to work on any of the above-mentioned holidays, except as provided herein, they shall receive pay at the regular rate and shall be allowed another day off at full pay as approved by the Department Head. The Department Head shall consider employees' requests for scheduling the eighteen (18) holiday account hours per calendar year, provided however, the final right to allot the hours to be observed is reserved exclusively to the Department Head. The Department Head will not unreasonably withhold permission to take time off. The employee may supplement the holiday with accrued vacation, accrued holiday time, or compensatory time.

  • Holiday Leave Holiday leave provisions shall be as noted below:

  • Religious Holiday Leave An employee may use two (2) sick days for religious observances if he/she has no personal business leave days. When an employee requests the use of this leave for days not known to be a religious holiday, the Board may request documentation.

  • Public Holiday Work (a) For Employees other than Shiftworkers, double time and a half must be paid for any Public Holiday Work with a minimum payment of four hours.

  • Worked Holidays Employees who are required to work on the above-named holidays shall receive the pay due them for the holiday, plus double their base rate for all hours worked on such holiday, plus shift differential if applicable, unless the employee starts to work at 10:00 P.M., or thereafter on that day.

  • Unworked Holidays Eligible employees shall receive pay equal to their normal work shift at their base rate in effect at the time the holiday occurs. An employee who is on the active payroll on the holiday and has worked both the last scheduled shift preceding the holiday and the first scheduled shift succeeding the holiday shall be eligible for pay for such unworked holiday. An exception to this requirement will occur if the employee(s) can furnish proof, satisfactory to the District that because of illness they were unable to work on either of such shifts, and the absence previous to such holiday, by reason of such illness, has not been longer than 30 regular workdays, and they received sick pay for the day(s) missed.

  • Scheduling of Paid Holidays For the purposes of this Memorandum the statutory holidays outlined in Article 39.01 of the Collective Agreement are incorporated into the work schedules during off duty days. All such statutory holidays shall be identified and recorded in ink in the nursing staff work schedules on the basis of seven point two (7.2) paid hours. Every effort shall be made to spread the statutory holidays off evenly throughout the year.

  • Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays, etc If the last or appointed day for the taking of any action or the expiration of any right required or granted herein shall not be a Business Day, then such action may be taken or such right may be exercised on the next succeeding Business Day.
