Promotional Increments. Employees who are promoted shall receive a promotional increment in the amount of three and one-half percent (3.5%) of the mid- point of the salary scale they are exiting added to his/her base rate of pay, or an increment which will bring them to the minimum of the new scale, whichever is greater. However, in no event will the employee’s pay rate exceed the top of their new scale, except as provided for in the Letter of Understanding dated 6/19/00 RE: “Promotional Increments and Implementation of New Section 602.02”.

Such employee shall then receive the appropriate promotional increment as defined above. A transfer from employment outside the bargaining unit to a job title within the Federation shall not be deemed a promotion for purposes of this subparagraph.
