Promotion of Health and Safety. The parties accept that the promotion of good health and safety practice is preferable to dealing with accidents and illnesses.

Promotion of Health and Safety. The Employer shall observe all applicable health and safety laws and regulations and will take all reasonable steps necessary to assure employee health and safety. Employees shall observe all rules and regulations pertaining to health and safety. Should any employee become aware of conditions she believes to be unhealthy or dangerous to the health and safety of employees or patients, the employee shall report the condition immediately to the supervisor. All unsafe or unhealthy conditions shall be remedied as soon as is practicable. The Employer is committed to maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all bargaining unit members. In the course of daily work, management recognizes that nurses may come in contact with blood borne diseases and other potentially infectious and toxic substances . Employees who have had a legitimate exposure to blood-borne disease and other infectious or toxic substances in the work setting are eligible to receive available screening, prophylaxis and/or immunizations at no cost to the employee. Employee Health will administer the program based on the recommendations of the Infection Control Officer.

  • Occupational Health and Safety Act The Employer, the Union and the employees agree to be bound by the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, S.N.S. 1996, c.7.

  • WORKPLACE HEALTH AND SAFETY The parties to this Agreement are committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace and work practices. The parties recognise that illness or injury at the workplace is costly to the employer and the employees and also disruptive to the respective parties. To facilitate healthy and safe work practices, the parties to the Agreement are committed to discussing health and safety issues as they apply to the operations of the employer as part of the consultative measures under this Agreement. The employer and employees under this agreement may refer to their respective industrial representatives for appropriate advice or expertise in enhancing performance with due regard to health and safety initiatives. The parties also recognise the importance of conducting regular audits of the employer's operations, policies and procedures including the employees' skills, knowledge, qualifications and application of healthy and safe work practices.

  • Health and Safety Plan 5. Xxxxxx shall prepare and submit under separate cover from the Work Plan, a Health and Safety Plan consistent with Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations. The Health and Safety Plan shall be submitted to the Department in the form of one electronic copy on compact disk (in .pdf format). Xxxxxx agrees that the Health and Safety Plan is submitted to the Department only for informational purposes. The Department expressly disclaims any liability that may result from implementation of the Health and Safety Plan by Xxxxxx. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

  • Occupational Health and Safety Committee The Employer and the Union agree to cooperate in the promotion of safe working conditions, the prevention of accidents, the prevention of workplace injuries and the promotion of safe workplace practices.

  • Joint Health and Safety Committee i) Recognizing its responsibilities under the applicable legislation, the Hospital agrees to accept as a member of its Joint Health and Safety Committee, at least one (1) representative selected or appointed by the Association from amongst bargaining unit employees from each Hospital site. Hospitals will choose either to include a representative from the bargaining unit from each Hospital site, or to have a separate Joint Health and Safety Committee at each Hospital site, unless the parties agree otherwise.
