Policy on Grievances. The parties hereto recognize that the prompt and equitable settlement of employee grievances is essential to the maintenance of sound labor relations. The parties further recognize that such grievances are usually more satisfactorily and expeditiously settled at the lowest supervisory level at which an acceptable understanding can be reached. Every reasonable effort will be made by the shop xxxxxxx, in cooperation with Employer’s General Manager, to correct violations and infractions of this Agreement. The shop xxxxxxx, upon request to the shop xxxxxxx’x immediate supervisor, shall be given a reasonable amount of time during working hours, and without loss of pay, to handle grievances pertaining to the shop xxxxxxx’x area of responsibility consistent with the provisions of Section 2.6

The shop xxxxxxx, upon request to the shop xxxxxxx’x immediate supervisor, shall be given a reasonable amount of time during working hours, and without loss of pay, to handle grievances pertaining to the shop xxxxxxx’x area of responsibility consistent with the provisions of Section 2.8 Shop Xxxxxxx of this Agreement. During outages and other emergencies, the shop xxxxxxx may be required to give priority attention to Employer’s business. Immediate supervisor means appropriate management personnel.

  • Policy Grievances Where either party to this agreement disputes the general application, interpretation or alleged violation of an article of this agreement, the dispute shall be discussed initially with the Manager, their designate or the Union within 30 calendar days of the occurrence. Where no satisfactory agreement is reached, either party, within a further 14 calendar days, may submit the dispute to arbitration, as set out in Article 9 of this agreement.

  • Policy Grievance Where either Party disputes the general application, interpretation or alleged violation of an article of this Agreement, the dispute shall be discussed initially with the Employer or the Union, as the case may be, within thirty (30) days of the occurrence.   • Policy Grievance – Union Grievance The Union may institute a grievance alleging a general misinterpretation or violation of this Agreement by the Employer by submitting a written grievance at Step No. 1 within twenty (20) days after the circumstances have occurred.   • Union Grievances 4/7/1 Union officers and stewards who are members of the bargaining unit shall have the right to file a grievance when any provision of this Agreement has been violated or when the Employer interpretation of the terms and provisions of this Agreement leads to a controversy with the Union over application of the terms or provisions of this Agreement.

  • Group Grievances No more than five (5) grievants will be permitted to attend grievance meetings.

  • Association Grievances If a grievance affects a group of employees or the Association, the Association may initiate and submit such grievance to the Superintendent directly, and the processing of such grievance shall commence at Step 2. Grievances involving more than one supervisor and grievances involving the administrator above the building level may be filed by the Association at Step 2.

  • Union Policy Grievance The Union may institute a grievance consisting of an allegation of a general misinterpretation or a violation by the Employer of this Agreement in writing at Step Number 2 of the grievance procedure, providing that it is presented within ten (10) working days after the circumstances giving rise to the grievance have originated or occurred. However, it is expressly understood that the provisions of this clause may not be used to institute a grievance directly affecting an employee or employees which such employee or employees could themselves initiate as an individual or group grievance and the regular grievance procedure shall not be thereby bypassed.

  • Individual Grievances Subject to and as provided in section 208 of the Federal Public Sector Labour Relations Act, an employee who feels that he or she has been treated unjustly or considers himself, herself aggrieved by any action or lack of action by the Employer in matters other than those arising from the classification process, is entitled to present a grievance, as in paragraph (b).

  • Grievances Where an Employee alleges that she has been suspended or discharged in violation of Article 23.01, she may within ten (10) days of the date on which she was notified in writing or within twenty (20) days of the date of her discharge or suspension, whichever is later, invoke the grievance procedure including provisions for Arbitration contained in Article 26, and for the purpose of a grievance, alleging violation of Article 23.01 she may lodge her grievance at the final level of the grievance procedure.

  • Policy Grievance – Employer Grievance The Employer may institute a grievance alleging a general misinterpretation or violation by the Union or any employee by filing a written grievance with the Bargaining Unit President, with a copy to the Labour Relations Officer within twenty (20) days after the circumstances have occurred. A meeting will be held between the parties within ten (10) days. The Union shall reply within ten (10) days after the meeting, and failing settlement, the matter may be referred to arbitration.
