- Grievance Defined and Procedure. Step 1: A grievance is defined as an alleged violation of the provisions of this Agreement. An employee may bring a grievance to the attention of his/her supervisor within five (5) working days of the incident, or the knowledge of the incident, upon which the grievance is based. The aggrieved employee, a committee person and the corresponding unit supervisor shall meet to discuss the grievance within five (5) working days after it is brought to the attention of the supervisor. The supervisor is to provide an answer to the aggrieved employee or the committee person within five (5) working days after the meeting.
