Granting of Leaves of Absence. (a) The Employer may, at its sole discretion, approve an unpaid leave of absence for personal or educational purposes for employees provided that the leave does not interfere with operational requirements.

Granting of Leaves of Absence. (a) Employees who have completed the probationary period may request a voluntary leave of absence from their employment.
Granting of Leaves of Absence. The decision to grant a leave of absence with or without pay shall be the decision of the EMPLOYER except as limited by this AGREEMENT. Employees must request such leaves in writing and present the request to their immediate supervisor. No leave of absence without pay will be granted to an Employee to accept employment with another employer except leave for UNION business and leaves for government service in the public interest. Failure to report for work upon the expiration of leave of absence, without being excused by the EMPLOYER, shall constitute cause for discharge from employment.

  • Other Leaves of Absence In the event that you are on a bona fide leave of absence, not otherwise described in this definition, from which you have not returned to employment with the Company or an Affiliate, your Separation from Service has occurred on the first day on which your leave of absence period exceeds six months or, if earlier, upon your termination of employment (provided that such termination of employment constitutes a Separation from Service in accordance with the last sentence of the first paragraph of this definition).
