Voluntary Leave of Absence. (a) Voluntary Leave of Absence – When the requirements of the Company permit, an Employee upon written request through the Employee’s immediate supervisor may be granted a voluntary leave of absence without pay for legitimate personal reasons. Except in cases of emergency, written requests for voluntary leave of absence must be submitted at least one month in advance of the requested leave.
Voluntary Leave of Absence. L18.01 Upon written request to the Human Resources Department, the Board agrees to approve a voluntary leave of absence for any Occasional Teacher on the Occasional Teacher roster. Such leave may be for a period up to and including one school year. The Occasional Teacher’s name will be returned to the roster upon receipt of and in accordance with a written request from the Occasional Teacher. The Occasional Teacher shall maintain the seniority date as at the time of taking the leave.
Voluntary Leave of Absence. Employees with seniority may apply for a Leave of Absence without loss of seniority if a written application is submitted and approved in accordance with the Policy of the Board.
Voluntary Leave of Absence. During a period of impending layoffs, the Board of Education may grant a voluntary leave of absence without pay and without paid fringe benefits when such a leave would be to the benefit of the District. A teacher granted such a leave cannot return prior to the established expiration date of the leave without Board approval. At the teacher's request the teacher on leave may be allowed to substitute teach at the substitute teacher rate of pay. A teacher on such leave may continue insurance coverage at the teacher's expense. Arrangements for the continuation of coverage must be made through the business office at the time the leave is granted.
Voluntary Leave of Absence. When the requirements of the Company permit, an employee upon written request through his/her immediate supervisor may be granted a voluntary leave of absence without pay for a period exceeding fourteen (14) consecutive calendar days but not exceeding one (1) year. Time off requests for less than fourteen (14) consecutive calendar days will be handled in accordance with Article 7.05.
Voluntary Leave of Absence. 1. Personnel requesting a voluntary leave of absence to further their education or to pursue other personal endeavours may be granted such leave. It is agreed the members will maintain their seniority status with the Service.
Voluntary Leave of Absence. Section One. The State may grant an employee a leave of absence with full pay, part pay or without pay, for a period not exceeding one (1) year at the request of the employee. Such leave may be extended beyond one (1) year at the State's discretion. In the granting of a leave of absence without pay, the State shall notify the employee whether the position will be held awaiting the employee’s return or whether reinstatement will be dependent upon whether or not a suitable vacancy is available. A leave of absence with full or part pay may be granted for educational purposes in order to enable an employee to study or receive technical training which will increase his/her proficiency in his/her position or for such other purpose as may be agreed between the State and the Union to be in the best interests of the State.
Voluntary Leave of Absence. 21.1 An occasional teacher may be granted a leave of absence for one (1) school year or part of a school year. The occasional teacher’s name will be removed from the occasional teacher list for the period of the leave and will be added to the list upon termination of the leave at the written request of the occasional teacher.
Voluntary Leave of Absence a) At the Company's discretion, a leave of absence may be granted for up to three (3) months and provided another qualified employee is available to carry on the work. Such leave shall be requested by the employee, in writing to the Human Resources Manager, as soon as the employee is aware that a leave of absence is required. Such requests, upon approval, will be granted in writing and no request shall be unreasonably denied.
