Emergency Leave with Pay. Any employee may be granted emergency leave with pay by his/her Department Head for personal reasons which the department head determines are of an “urgent nature,” except for medical or dental care. Such emergency leave with pay shall not exceed four hours in any one instance, or a maximum of four hours in any one calendar month.

Emergency Leave with Pay. Section 25.01: Employees shall be entitled to emergency leave with pay in the event of death in the employee's immediate family; immediate family shall include: husband, wife, mother, mother-in-law, father, father-in-law, children, brothers, sisters, grandparents and grandchildren. Said leave shall be for a period of up to three (3) days. Employees shall be allowed one (1) day funeral leave to attend the funeral of a brother-in-law, sister-in-law.
Emergency Leave with Pay. In the event of a family or household crisis, leave of absence with pay will be granted, within reason, given the nature of the crisis. As a rule, Emergency Leave will not exceed four (4) working days in a calendar year, however, consideration will be given for special circumstances.

  • Other Leave with Pay The Employer may grant leave with pay for purposes other than those specified in this Agreement, including military or civil defence training, and emergencies affecting the community or place of work.

If the employee wishes to exercise this option, the employee must submit a signed statement to the employee's department no later than thirty (30) days following the employee's release from disability leave.

  • Bereavement Leave With Pay For the purpose of this clause, immediate family is defined as father, mother (or alternatively stepfather, stepmother or xxxxxx parent), brother, sister, spouse (including common-law spouse resident with the employee), child (including child of common-law spouse), stepchild or xxxx of the employee, father-in-law, mother-in-law, and relative permanently residing in the employee’s household or with whom the employee permanently resides.

  • Examination Leave With Pay At the Employer's discretion, examination leave with pay may be granted to an employee for the purpose of writing an examination which takes place during the employee's scheduled hours of work, where the course of study is directly related to the employee's duties or will improve his qualifications.
