Bereavement While on Vacation. A permanent employee or a probationary permanent employee shall be eligible for bereavement leave in accordance with Article 17.01.03 while on annual vacation leave.

Bereavement While on Vacation. In the event that a situation occurs during the period of vacation which the employee otherwise would have been entitled to use Bereavement Leave, Article 15.07, on application from the employee to his/her supervisor, credit will be restored to a maximum of five (5) vacation days in accordance with that entitlement. Application will also be considered for special circumstances and such applications shall be made to the Director of Human Resources.

Bereavement While on Vacation. Should a regular employee demonstrate to the satisfaction of the Employer that the employee experienced the death of a relative listed in article 31.01 during the course of an employee’s vacation, the employee shall be considered on a bereavement leave in accordance with and subject to the provisions of Article 31. Vacation time not taken as a result of such bereavement leave shall be taken at a mutually agreeable later date.

Bereavement While on Vacation. Where an Employee’s scheduled vacation is interrupted due to a bereavement leave the Employee shall be entitled to bereavement leave in accordance with Article 14.05. The portion of the Employee’s vacation which is deemed to be bereavement leave under the above provision will not be counted against the Employee’s vacation credits.
