The Bereavement Benefit clause provides financial support or other specified benefits to an employee or their beneficiaries in the event of the death of a close family member. Typically, this clause outlines eligibility criteria, the amount or type of benefit provided, and the process for claiming the benefit, such as submitting documentation of the bereavement. Its core function is to offer assistance and relief to employees during a period of personal loss, helping to alleviate financial or practical burdens associated with bereavement.
BEREAVEMENT BENEFIT. If an Insured Person suffers Injury which results in Loss of life for which the Carrier has paid the benefit set out in the Table of Losses, the Carrier will pay the reasonable and necessary expenses actually incurred for grief counseling provided that:
1. The counseling is for the Spouse and/or Dependent Children; such expenses are incurred within 365 days of the date of the accident causing Loss of Life; and such grief counseling is provided by a therapist or counselor who is licensed, registered or certified to provide such treatment and who is not a member of the Immediate Family of the Insured Person.
2. The Carrier will pay the person who has incurred the actual expense.
3. The maximum amount payable for this benefit is one thousand dollars (1,000.00).
BEREAVEMENT BENEFIT. The Company shall present a sympathy token of $100 to the union members in the event of the death of their immediate family members.

BEREAVEMENT BENEFIT. When an injury results in a payment for accidental death and dismemberment benefits being made by us for loss of life, we will also pay the reasonable and necessary expenses actually incurred by your spouse and dependent child, for up to 6 sessions of grief counseling, by a professional counsellor, up to the maximum amount shown in the policy schedule. This benefit cannot exceed the maximum amount shown in the policy schedule.
BEREAVEMENT BENEFIT. In the event of a Valid Claim under Item 1 of the Schedule of Events, the Company will pay the estate of the Insured Person the Sum Insured as shown on the Policy Schedule.
BEREAVEMENT BENEFIT. Full-time benefitted employees are eligible for up to five (5) days off each calendar year for the death of a qualified relative. The employee will receive straight time for these days and such pay shall not be applied for the purposes of calculating overtime.
BEREAVEMENT BENEFIT. While this Policy is still valid, a Bereavement Benefit as specified in the Schedule of Benefits will be payable in the event of the Insured's death, before diagnosis of any cancer.
