Accrual and Use of Hours Sample Clauses

Accrual and Use of Hours. Hours will only be accrued on a non-negligent and/or an accident-free basis and will be credited at the end of a two (2) year eligibility period. This eligibility period is established based on an employee’s date of hire into a classification that requires or authorizes his/her use of a Department vehicle in the course of duty. All hours will be recalculated based on this formula. Based on the above parameters, employees will accrue 20 hours of bank time per two (2) year period. The maximum accrual will be capped at 40 hours. These hours may be used at the employee’s option for disciplinary suspensions applied for traffic accidents and will not be used for any other purpose and may not be cashed out if not used. This benefit will have no effect on decisions made by the Accident Review Board; however, the Accident Review Board will be responsible for determining and maintaining a record of the amount of hours an employee has in his/her bank based on the formula set out above.
