Years of Benefit Service definition

Years of Benefit Service or "Benefit Service" means the years of service described in Section 4.3.

Years of Benefit Service means an Eligible Employee’s Years of Benefit Service, as determined under the Gxxxxxxx Retirement Plan. Notwithstanding the foregoing, if an Eligible Employee receives payments after termination of employment under the terms of the Gxxxxxxx Corporation Management Continuity Agreement, the period of service for which such payments are made shall be credited under this Plan as Years of Benefit Service if the Eligible Employee does not receive the equivalent of a pension benefit for such service under the Gxxxxxxx Corporation Management Continuity Agreement.

Years of Benefit Service means a Participant's Benefit Service as defined in the Wiley Basic Plan under Section 3.02 of such Plan. However, in the case of an acquired company, the Participant's service with that company prior to the date of acquisition will not be counted unless such service is recognized for purposes of (i) Benefit Service under the Wiley Basic Plan or (ii) benefit accruals under any other nonqualified supplemental plan maintained by the Company. In addition to the foregoing, a Participant may, subject to the approval of the Committee, be granted additional Years of Service for purpose of determining the amount of benefits under the 2005 SERP.

Examples of Years of Benefit Service in a sentence

• EARLY RETIREMENT You may elect Early Retirement as of the first day of any month after you reach age 55 and have completed 10 or more Years of Vesting Service.The amount of your benefit will be your Accrued Benefit at your Early Retirement Date or as of February 28, 2003, whichever occurs first, based on your Years of Benefit Service and your Compensation up to that time.

• The benefit you receive upon your actual retirement will be based upon your actual birth date, compensation experience, completed number of Years of Benefit Service, the provisions of the Plan freezing benefits, the other provisions of the Plan, and the laws in effect when you retire.

• WHY SERVICE IS IMPORTANT Accrued Benefit The amount of your pension benefit, among other things, is determined on the basis of how many Years of Benefit Service you have completed with the Participating Employer as of February 28, 2003.

• The benefit you receive upon your actual retirement will be based upon your actual birth date, compensation experience, completed number of Years of Benefit Service, theprovisions of the Plan freezing benefits, the other provisions of the Plan, and the laws in effect when you retire.

• Years of Benefit Service are used in determining when you are eligible to retire and in calculating the amount of your pension (see “How Your Pension Is Calculated” on pages 15–30 for more details about Years of Benefit Service).

More Definitions of Years of Benefit Service

Years of Benefit Service means Years of Credited Service (including fractions thereof) during which an employee is an Active Participant. "Years of Benefit Service" shall include only a Participant's Years of Credited Service recognized through December 31, 2004. Appendix C ARTICLE IIELIGIBILITY FOR BENEFITS

Years of Benefit Service means the total of a Participant's Years of Service, provided that (i) when the individual first becomes a Participant, the Committee may exclude certain Years of Service rendered before he or she becomes a Participant, (ii) the Committee may include all or a portion of a Participant's service rendered to an entity before it becomes a WellPoint Company, and (iii) the Committee may at any time cease future accrual of Years of Benefit Service for a Participant. A Participant may be credited with fractional Years of Benefit Service.

Years of Benefit Service means the years of benefit service granted to Executive under this SERP and the years of "Benefit Service" (as that term is defined in the Blouxx Xxxn) granted to Executive under the Blouxx Plan. Years of Benefit Service or “Benefit Service” shall mean the number of Computation Periods counted with respect to determining a Participant’s Accrued Benefit under the Plan, as further described in Article III. A Participant shall not be credited with any Benefit Service or Years of Benefit Service after December 31, 2012.

Years of Benefit Service means, except as otherwise provided in Sections 3.4 and 3.7, the sum of:
