Course Development definition

Course Development the development of or building of new content for a credit or non-credit course that has not been previously offered by the University in any format. Effective September 1, 2022, Minimum rate for Course Development is as follows: Credit course (in any format): $1,901.97 per course Non-Credit Course (in any format): $642.32 for courses 28 contact hours or less $1,309.63 for courses more than 28 contact hours The minimum rates for Course Development shall be increased by the following increase each Academic Year: September 1, 2023 3.50% September 1, 2024 3.50% September 1, 2025 3.75% September 1, 2026 6.00% September 1, 2027 6.00% Both the adjunct faculty and the University must agree, in writing, that the adjunct has been engaged to develop a specific course, and payment shall not be due until the course has been delivered. Delivered, as used in the previous sentence, shall not be construed as to mean the course being offered and/or taught. An approved form must be completed by both the adjunct and the University in order for an adjunct to be eligible for Course Development pay under this Article. Such form shall include, at a minimum, the name of the course to be developed, the adjunct faculty’s name, the School engaging the adjunct, the payment amount, and signatures of both the adjunct faculty and an authorized University signatory. Any other details of the course development, including but not limited to other forms required by a School and how the course shall be delivered, shall be addressed individually between the adjunct and the School.
Course Development. If the supervising Xxxx asks an instructor to design, develop and offer an online course, the instructor will be compensated an additional development fee. This fee will be equal to one-half (1/2) times the compensation normally paid the instructor, using the staff rate and credit hours assigned to the course. The developing instructor will have the first option for teaching the course when it is first offered by the College. All course materials will be owned by the College in this case. If the instructor was not paid to develop the course, the instructor retains ownership of the course materials he/she developed for the course. However, the course outline and syllabus remains property of the College. 0608 Team Teaching Compensation and load assignments will be identified by the supervising Xxxx before the team-taught courses are offered. 0609 Independent/Directed Study/Low Enrollment Instructors teaching an independent/directed study will be paid a sum equal to the Delta County in-district tuition course contact hour rate. This payment shall be subject to only the normal deductions for income taxes, social security taxes, and instructor share of MIP retirement. A low enrolled course is one that has low enrollment and would have been cancelled, except the instructor agrees to teach the class as scheduled for the Directed Study rate of pay. If the course obtains enough enrollment, the low enrollment designation is removed from the course and the instructor is to be paid the normal contact hour rate.
Course Development at SCCC means that the Instructor agrees to develop and present the following: a course concept for the approval process, a course outline that includes SCCC and applicable SUNY General Education course objectives, a complete syllabus with lesson plans, content material for each lesson, and a student learning outcomes assessment plan that includes materials such as test questions or portfolio evaluation criteria. Instructors who develop courses for web-based delivery may expect assistance from the SCCC Instructional Technology Coordinator/Multimedia Instruction Developer (MID) and others. Each Instructor receiving such assistance is expected to attempt to learn the skills needed to develop their own materials.

Examples of Course Development in a sentence

  • By mutual written agreement between the College and the faculty member, the Electronic Course Development Agreement may allow the College or the faculty member to grant sub-licenses to other colleges or institutions.

  • If authorized to proceed with development of the Electronic Course materials, the College and the faculty member will enter into a written Electronic Course Development Agreement which details the scope of the Electronic Course materials to be developed, a schedule for completion, and the terms and conditions of ownership of any intellectual property rights in the materials developed.

  • The amount of compensation will be determined as part of the updated Electronic Course Development Agreement.

  • Term Adjuncts are appointed to instruct and evaluate, for pay, individually or jointly, one or more degree credit course(s) or course section(s) (or parts thereof) as set out in their letter of appointment, or to perform Course Development or Major Revision work as per Appendix S.

  • In addition the Employee will be advised of the Course Development assignment, the component pieces and the number of hours attached to each component.

  • The Employee will be asked whether he/she still wishes to be considered for the Course Development work assignment.

  • Distance Learning Course Development shall be compensated as defined in Article 14.

  • If an Employee is offered and turns down a Course Development work assignment, this will not prejudice him/her for future consideration.

  • In extenuating circumstances, an Employee assigned Course Development work may request an extension of the timeline for assigned Course Development work.

  • Mixed use development means a Building used, designed or intended for Residential and Non-Residential uses, where:

  • Economic development means all powers expressly granted and reasonably inferred pursuant to SDCL § 9-54.

Economic development project includes necessary buildings, improvements, or structures suitable for and intended for or incidental to use as an industrial or commercial enterprise or housing development; and includes industrial park or industrial site improvements and port improvements or housing development incidental to an industrial or commercial enterprise; and includes the machinery, furnishings, and equipment necessary, suitable, intended for, or incidental to a commercial, industrial, or residential use in connection with the buildings or structures.

  • Infill development means new construction on a vacant commercial lot currently held as open space.

  • site development plan means a dimensioned plan drawn to scale that indicates details of the proposed land development, including the site layout, positioning of buildings and structures, property access, building designs and landscaping;

  • Major development means an individual “development,” as well as multiple developments that individually or collectively result in:

  • Research and development means (1) theoretical analysis, exploration, or experimentation; or (2) the extension of investigative findings and theories of a scientific or technical nature into practical application for experimental and demonstration purposes, including the experimental production and testing of models, devices, equipment, materials, and processes. Research and development does not include the internal or external administration of radiation or radioactive material to human beings.

  • sustainable development means development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

  • Employee Developments means any idea, discovery, invention, design, method, technique, improvement, enhancement, development, computer program, machine, algorithm or other work or authorship that (i) relates to the business or operations of the Company or any of its subsidiaries or affiliates, or (ii) results from or is suggested by any undertaking assigned to the Employee or work performed by the Employee for or on behalf of the Company or any of its subsidiaries or affiliates, whether created alone or with others, during or after working hours. All Confidential Information and all Employee Developments shall remain the sole property of the Company or any of its subsidiaries or affiliates. The Employee shall acquire no proprietary interest in any Confidential Information or Employee Developments developed or acquired during the Term. To the extent the Employee may, by operation of law or otherwise, acquire any right, title or interest in or to any Confidential Information or Employee Development, the Employee hereby assigns to the Company all such proprietary rights. The Employee shall, both during and after the Term, upon the Company’s request, promptly execute and deliver to the Company all such assignments, certificates and instruments, and shall promptly perform such other acts, as the Company may from time to time in its discretion deem necessary or desirable to evidence, establish, maintain, perfect, enforce or defend the Company’s rights in Confidential Information and Employee Developments.

  • Low Impact Development or “LID” means a site design strategy that maintains, mimics or replicates pre- development hydrology through the use of numerous site design principles and small-scale treatment practices distributed throughout a site to manage runoff volume and water quality at the source.
