Vacation Entitlement for Police Officers. A Police Officer shall accrue vacation entitlement for work in the Bargaining Unit according to his/her seniority as follows: LENGTH OF SERVICE VACATION HOURS ACCRUED PER PAY PERIOD 0 to 4.0 years 4.62 4.0 to 9.0 years 5.85 9.0 to 14.0 years 6.46 14 years and over 7.69 Although accrual of vacation during the first six (6) months of continuous service is permitted, no Police Officer shall be entitled to consume vacation during the first six (6) months of his/her twelve (12) month probationary period. Police Officers who fail to successfully complete six (6) months of their probationary period shall forfeit any accruals of vacation rights otherwise provided by this section. Vacation time does not accrue while the employee is receiving short term disability (STD) or long term disability (LTD).
