Steam Plant Steam Plant SI When a permanent vacancy occurs in a department the Company shall post on bulletin boards throughout the mill, a notice pertaining to the bottom job in the department affected. Such notice shall indicate the qualifications essential to the vacant position in the department. Such posting shall be for a period of seven (7) working days and the Company shall have the right to make a temporary appointment without penalty. Time worked in such temporary appointment will not be considered when making permanent selection according to this clause. In selecting the man for the permanent vacancy, the Company shall consider education and experience. When two or more employees education and experience are sufficient, then seniority shall prevail. The Company will provide a list applicants to the local union for posting, including Local Union Seniority. In cases ofpromotion where the man to be promoted the senior man, the Company will present the alternate name to the Local Union who will have the opportunity to discuss with the Company the qualifications of the senior man. The Company shall take such presentation into consideration in making its decision. It recognized that the responsibility of management is to ensure the maintenance of an adequate work force to operate the Mill.
