Special Salary Adjustments. A. While the Association remains the exclusive agent for negotiating salaries for members of the Faculty, the University reserves the right to adjust salaries beyond the negotiated levels (i) to address salary discrepancies if proven to exist through a salary review, (ii) to match bona fide offers of employment, (iii) and/or in other unusual circumstances. When such an adjustment occurs, the University will inform the Association, in writing, within ten (10) days of its action.

Special Salary Adjustments. A department head may recommend in writing, to raise an employee’s salary step to a higher merit/longevity increase step prior to the eligibility times specified in this article so as to recognize meritorious service, advanced educational achievements or other extraordinary attributes related to the employee’s public service. Such increased compensation is subject to the approval of the City Manager and the availability of budgeted funds. The employee’s merit review date shall change to the effective date of the special increase.
Special Salary Adjustments. The City Manager, upon recommendation of the appointing authority and the Director of Human Resources, may authorize a pay increase to an employee to correct gross inequities or to reward outstanding achievement and performance. Effective July 1, 1999, the salary range for the classification of Health Facilities Evaluator Nurse (HFEN) shall be adjusted to be the same as the salary range for the classification of Nurse Evaluator II. Incumbents at the minimum rate of the old salary range shall be moved to the minimum rate of the new salary range.
