Salary Step Clause Samples
The Salary Step clause defines the specific pay level or grade assigned to an employee within an organization’s salary structure. It typically outlines how an employee’s compensation is determined based on factors such as experience, tenure, or performance, and may specify the criteria for advancement to higher salary steps. This clause ensures transparency and consistency in pay administration, helping both employers and employees understand how salaries are set and how progression occurs over time.
Salary Step. One of the salary levels within a salary range.
Salary Step. An increment within a salary grade, which designates a specific pay rate as shown on the appropriate salary schedule.
Salary Step. An employee hired or promoted on or after September 09, 2013, having an appointment as a result of suspension of competitive examination or certification from an eligible list, who has served in his/her class for at least fifty-two (52) weeks at the respective Step, shall advance on the first day of the next succeeding biweekly pay period to the next higher step within the range prescribed herein for his/her class.

Salary Step. ● An adjunct faculty member begins in Step 1 and advances a step by completing one year of service as defined in the glossary. ● For most course assignments, LHEs equal the credit hours for the course. Exceptions are described in 9.2B below.
Salary Step. An employee who is selected for a higher-level position within their current classification will begin at a salary step ensuring an equal or greater rate of pay. Wages for employees subject to this Agreement, during the term of the Agreement, are contained in Schedule A, attached hereto, and by this reference incorporated herein.
Salary Step. A specific location in a salary range, not the dollar amount (Note: The salary range applicable to a class may change without affecting the step placement rights of unit members).
Salary Step. Any certified employee re-employed through recall, and who has not remained employed by another school district shall be placed on the same salary step as when laid-off. If the employee is recalled for the next school year or within the next school year, he/she shall be placed one salary step higher than the previous salary step (when laid-off).
Salary Step. The individual rate of pay in a salary range.
Salary Step. Employees being demoted or displaced shall be placed at the salary step representing the least loss of pay. In no case shall the salary be increased above that received in the classification from which the employee was laid off.
