Rotational Shifts. Employees who work rotational shifts on a seven day a week basis will not be scheduled in excess of 10 hours each day, including time for lunch. Such hours will usually be worked five days a week, except when a shift change requires employees to work six days in that week. In that event, employees will be scheduled for an additional day off the following week to compensate for the missed off day. Hours of work may be established for employees working rotational shifts outside the hours specified in Clause 6.01.01(b).

Selection for Shift Assignments will be on a rotational basis. Rotation length will not be less than 1 week or more than two consecutive weeks within the classification affected.

  • Additional Shifts 32.1 The Employer is committed to maximising its permanent workforce in line with its occupancy levels. The Employer will always offer additional shifts in the first instance to its permanent part-time staff where practicable. It will then offer additional shifts to its casual or bank staff, where applicable.

  • Shift Rotation Routine shift rotation is not an approach to staffing endorsed by the Employer. Except for emergency situations where it may be necessary to provide safe patient care, shift rotation will not be utilized without mutual consent. In the other Agencies, shifts shall not be rotated unless mutually agreed to by the parties.

  • Extra Shifts Where an employee agrees to work or is required by the Employer to work a shift(s) or portion thereof, in excess of the employee’s scheduled work week, the employee will receive pay at the rate of one and one‐half (1½) times the employee’s regular hourly rate for such excess hours worked, with a minimum of three (3) hours at the rate of one and one‐half (1½) times the employee’s regular rate of pay.

  • Hour Shifts When the Employer deems it necessary to implement a twelve (12) hour work day, affected employees shall be notified pursuant to Clause 14.05. The following Clauses shall be replaced or added to the Collective Agreement where appropriate.
