The Association has the exclusive right to be present for the adjustment of any and all grievances. Grievance forms shall be exhibited in the Appendix of this contract and it shall be the exclusive right of the Association to issue forms to the grievant. The Association shall have the exclusive right to determine whether to proceed to the arbitration step of the procedure. The grievant shall identify the following information on the Grievance Form: his/her name; the nature of the alleged violation including all relevant facts; the specific provisions of the Master Agreement allegedly violated; and the specific relief being sought. The Association and grievant shall receive copies of all grievance responses in the processing of a grievance.
Rights of the Grievant and the Association. 1. An aggrieved professional staff member, at his/her sole choosing, may appear on his/her own behalf or may be represented at any or all steps of the grievance procedure by the designated representative and/or the Association.

At any step the administrator may waive the grievance to a higher step. The purpose of these procedures is to secure, at the lowest possible administrative level, equitable solutions to grievances. Nothing contained in this procedure shall be construed as limiting the individual right of a member having a complaint or problem to discuss the matter informally with members of the Administration/Board through normal channels of communication. The fact that a member files a grievance shall not be recorded in his/her personnel file or in any files used in the transfer, assignment, or promotion process. No reprisal of any kind shall be taken by or against any participant in the grievance procedure by reason of such participation. At any stage in this process, whether formal or informal, grievance, complaint, or problem, the member has the right to representation by the Association.
