Rest Periods/Lunch Break. A unit member who works at least four (4) hours but less than seven (7) hours per day shall be entitled to one fifteen (15) minute break per day. A unit member who works at least seven (7) hours per day (i.e., 7-8 hours/day) shall be entitled to two fifteen (15) minute breaks. Any unit member who works less than four (4) hours will be treated with sensitivity in considering time necessary to meet personal needs. Unit members who work for a period of more than five (5) hours will have not less than a thirty (30) minute or more than one (1) hour duty-free, non-compensated meal period, except that when a work period of not more than six (6) hours will complete the day's work, the meal period may be waived by mutual consent of the unit member and the employer.

Rest Periods/Lunch Break. Each employee on the afternoon and night shift shall be allowed 1/2 hour paid lunch period. The employee shall remain on the premises and be reasonably available for performance of necessary duties. Rest Periods: Each employee covered by this Agreement shall receive one (1) IS-minute rest period during each half day worked. The rest period shall not interfere with normal operations. Notwithstanding any other provision of this Agreement, any employee starting his or her shift after 1:00 p.m. shall be considered on the afternoon shift and any employee starting his or her shift prior to 1:00 p.m. shall be considered on the day shift.
Rest Periods/Lunch Break. A unit member who between four (4) hours and seven (7) hours per day shall be entitled to one paid fifteen (15) minute break per day. A unit member who works seven (7) hours per day or more (i.e. 7-8 hours/day) shall be entitled to two paid fifteen (15) minute breaks. Any unit member who works less than four (4) hours will be treated with sensitivity in considering time necessary to meet personal needs. Unit members who work more than five (5) hours per day shall be entitled to a thirty (30) minute duty-free, non-compensated meal period. If a unit member’s work period does not exceed six (6) hours per day, the employee may submit a meal period waiver in writing to their immediate Supervisor. A copy of the written waiver will be placed in the unit member’s personnel file (Ca. Labor Code section 512(a)). The work week for unit members whose average work day is four (4) hours or more shall consist of five (5) consecutive days with overtime rate to be paid for the work on the 6th and 7th days. Unit members whose average work day is less than four (4) hours shall be eligible for overtime to be paid for work performed on the 7th consecutive day.

  • Rest Periods Employees working a full shift will receive one rest period of fifteen (15) minutes in each half of the shift. Employees working less than a full shift, but a minimum of four (4) hours will receive one fifteen (15) minute rest period.

  • Rest Period An employee who works overtime shall have at least a ten hour rest period between the end of ordinary hours on any one day and start of ordinary hours on the next day. If on the instructions of the employer, the employee resumes or continues work without having had 10 consecutive hours off duty, the employee shall be paid double time until he or she is released from duty for ten hour rest period. The employee shall then be entitled to be absent without loss of pay for ordinary working hours occurring during the ten hour rest period. In the case of shift workers, eight hours shall be substituted for ten hours when overtime is worked:

  • Paid Rest Periods All Employees shall be given a paid rest period of fifteen (15) minutes in the first and second half of their daily shift in an area made available by the Employer. If mutually agreed to between the parties, the two (2) rest periods shall be combined.

  • Meal Breaks and Rest Periods 7.1 Except when required for urgent or emergency work and except as provided in 7.2 below, no employee shall be required to work for more than five hours continuously without being entitled to a meal break of not less than half an hour. There will be only one meal break of not less than half an hour during a 10 hour shift.

  • Meal/Rest Periods All nurses shall receive an unpaid meal period of one-half (1/2) hour. Nurses required to remain on duty or in the Hospital during their meal period shall be compensated for such time at the appropriate rate of pay. All nurses shall receive one (1) fifteen

  • Rest Periods and Meal Breaks (a) All employees shall have two (2) fifteen (15) minute rest periods in each work period in excess of six (6) hours, one (1) rest period to be granted before and one (1) after the meal period, provided the staff to child ratio can be maintained. It is understood that meal breaks and rest periods may be combined subject to operational requirements.

  • Overtime-Eligible Rest Periods ‌ The Employer and the Union agree to rest periods that vary from and supersede the rest periods required by WAC 000-000-000. Employees will be allowed rest periods of fifteen (15) minutes for each one-half (1/2) shift of four (4) or more hours worked at or near the middle of each one-half (1/2) shift of four (4) or more hours. Rest periods do not require relief from duty. Rest periods may not be used for late arrival or early departure from work and rest and meal periods will not be combined.

  • Rest Period After Overtime (a) When overtime work is necessary, it will, wherever reasonably practicable, be so arranged that employees have at least 10 consecutive hours off duty between the work of successive days or shifts, including overtime.

  • Meal Periods and Rest Periods (a) Regular hours of work shall include, as scheduled by the Employer, two (2) rest periods of fifteen (15) minutes during each shift of seven and three- quarter (7 3/4) hours and exclude an unpaid meal period of not less than thirty (30) minutes.

  • Overtime Rest Periods If an employee is assigned one (1) or more hours of overtime work contiguous to his/her regular workshift or is called back within one (1) hour of his/her scheduled quitting time, the Agency will provide a fifteen (15) minute rest period after two (2) hours of overtime completed.
