– REPORTING TIME ALLOWANCE. 8.1 When an employee employed on a job or project reports as usual for work, but is unable to commence work because of circumstances beyond his control, he shall be given two (2) hours pay plus Traveling Allowance and/or Board Allowance as applicable, for reporting on the job, provided however, that the employee remains on the job during the two (2) hour period and performs any work requested which, in the opinion or judgment of his Xxxxxxx, after conferring with the Job Xxxxxxx, can be accomplished. If reporting time occurs during Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays or overtime hours, then the overtime rates shall apply. Should an employee be told to stay home for the next shift after the completion of the current shift due to expected inclement weather they shall be entitled to daily reporting time allowance as per article 8 in addition to the daily travel/commuting/board allowance for the project.

The above provisions of this article 8 (a) will not apply when the employee is working on a camp job or in a travel zone applicable to the employee’s Local that extends beyond 160 kilometers. In those circumstances should the employee be told to stay away from work due to unexpected inclement weather the employee shall receive daily reporting time allowance in accordance with this article in addition to any daily travel/commuting/board allowance that may be payable for the project.

In all cases, including where an employee is relieving another employee on rehabilitative assignment or to replace for a union the relieving employee will receive the ten minute reporting time allowance if the work is the relieving employee's first assignment of the day. Operators shall be paid ten minutes reporting time on any regular scheduled run. Operators shall be paid ten minutes reporting time on each tripper assignment. Operators will be paid ten minutes reporting time at regular basic hourly rate for each occasion where the bus operated by the Operator is dispatched from the Garage. Effective February reporting time allowance is modified to provide a reporting time allowance of minutes for all pieces of work out of the garage and minutes for all first pieces of work which relieve on the road (not out of the garage).
