Promotion to Professor. A. Definitions For Article 5B.12 the term “promotion” applies to advancement from the rank of Associate Professor to the rank of Professor. For the purposes of this Article, “Salary Transfer” refers to transfer from the Associate Professor pay scale to the Professor pay scale of those members hired before January 1, 1992 (See Article 13.1.F.), who at time of application under this Article hold the rank of Professor. An application for “Salary Transfer”, whether successful or unsuccessful, shall have no effect on the rank of the applicant.
Promotion to Professor. Application A Department Committee Promotion Report, which will form the basis of the Department Committee’s report to the College Committee on its overall assessment of the Faculty Member’s application for the granting of Promotion to Professor.
Promotion to Professor. 1. The formal application for promotion to Professor occurs in the fall semester when the candidate submits his/her full application file. The notification of intent to apply, made in the previous spring semester, does not constitute the formal application.

Promotion to Professor. 10.2.4.1 Promotion to the rank of Professor is not an assured step in progression through the ranks. Members eligible for the rank of Professor must have made contributions as teachers and scholars, and in service, that are qualitatively and quantitatively superior to those required for the rank of Associate Professor.
Promotion to Professor. 25D.05 Considering the professional responsibilities and workload of the faculty member as set out in Articles 16A and 19A, respectively, the criteria for promotion to the rank of Professor are:
Promotion to Professor. (a) Promotion to the rank of Professor shall be based upon both a lengthy and meritorious record of effective teaching and significant scholarly or creative contributions to the Faculty Member’s field. Letters of reference from external referees shall be required. STP Committees shall scrutinize recommendations for promotion to Professor with extreme care to ensure that the requirements have been met.
Promotion to Professor. Tenured Members at the rank of Associate Professor are eligible to apply for promotion to Professor three (3) or more, years after attaining Associate Professor. In the year the Member intends to apply for promotion, the Member will give written notification to the Xxxx by March 31 of the Member’s intent to apply for promotion to Professor. The criteria for promotion to Professor are found in Article 26.19.
Promotion to Professor. E.3.6.1 Promotion to Professor is both a recognition of and an expectation of continued outstanding research and academic leadership. The main criterion for promotion is international distinction in scholarship as evidenced by published research or other original contributions of acknowledged excellence in the applicant’s field.
Promotion to Professor. An Associate Professor who applies for promotion to Professor must demonstrate performance that meets or exceeds the standards specified in Article 16.3.4
