APPOINTMENTS - INTERDEPARTMENTAL TRANSFERS OF FACULTY. A Faculty member who is assigned courses in another department will remain a member of his/her original department, unless an authorized permanent transfer is arranged by written mutual agreement of the receiving department and the individual Faculty member. In the latter circumstance, should the receiving department at some future date be faced with a redundancy situation (see 4.12 below), the aforementioned Faculty member's seniority within the receiving Department/School shall be interpreted as commencing from the date on which the permanent transfer became effective. Should the result be an identification of the Faculty member as redundant within his/her new Department/School, that is the receiving Department/School, then he/she will be transferred back to his/her original Department/School with a seniority equal to his/her original seniority plus the additional amount developed while within the receiving Department/School.
