Pregnancy/Child Care Leave. (a) Pregnancy shall be treated as any other non-occupational disability circumstance set forth in Article 16 and in accordance with the Pregnancy Discrimination Act of 1979.

Pregnancy/Child Care Leave. 1. Pregnant employees shall be entitled to disability leave for the presumptive period of disability which is thirty (30) days prior to and thirty (30) days subsequent to the date of delivery. The written request to the Board must include a physician's note that indicates the anticipated delivery date. The disability leave will be treated the same as all other types of disability leaves. A teacher who seeks disability leave due to pregnancy must request such a leave in writing to the Board. The request must be made sixty (60) days prior to the anticipated date of delivery. The disability leave may be extended upon written request to the Board. Such a request must be supported by a physician's note. No employee shall be prevented from working rather than taking disability leave provided she can demonstrate that she is physically fit to perform her duties.

  • Child Care Leave (a) An employee who is a natural or adoptive parent shall be granted upon request in writing child care leave without pay for a period of up to thirty-five (35) weeks. The leave may be shared by the parents or taken wholly by one (1) parent.

  • Maternity/Child Care Leave A. The Board agrees to provide employees with a child care leave of absence, without pay, as set forth below:

  • Xxxxx Care Leave Leave may be granted to any employee, upon request, to care for or to arrange for care for parents of the employee or the employee's spouse.

  • Extended Child Care Leave ‌ Upon completion of maternity, adoption and/or parental leave, including any extension to such leaves, a regular employee will be entitled, upon written application, to a leave of absence without pay to care for the child. Subject to Clause 11.3(a), the following conditions shall apply:

  • Medical Care Leave An Employee who is unable to make the necessary arrangements for maintenance of personal health care outside of scheduled work time, shall be granted time off with pay. Such time off shall not exceed sixteen (16) working hours per calendar year. Hours in excess of sixteen (16) hours per calendar year shall be deducted from the Employee's sick leave accumulation.

  • Pregnancy Leave (a) Pregnancy leave will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act, except where amended in this provision.

  • Family Care Leave In accordance with RCW 49.12 and WAC 296-130, employees shall be allowed to use any or all of their choice of sick leave or other paid time off to care for a family member (as defined above) who has a serious health condition or an emergency condition. Employees shall not be disciplined or otherwise discriminated against because of their exercise of these rights.

  • Pregnancy Sick Leave Leave for illness of a Nurse arising out of or associated with a Nurse’s pregnancy prior to the commencement of, or the ending of, pregnancy leave granted in accordance with Article 13.00, may be granted sick leave in accordance with the provisions of the Collective Agreement.

  • Childcare Leave Every employee who has served the Company for at least three months and who has a child below the age of seven (7) years shall be entitled to the prescribed number of days of paid childcare leave in a year in accordance with the relevant provisions in the Children Development Co-Savings Act or the Employment Act, as the case may be.

  • Compassionate Care Leave (a) Compassionate care leave will be granted to an employee for up to eight (8) weeks within a twenty-six (26) week period to provide care or support to a family member who is at risk of dying within that 26-week period in accordance with section 49.1 of the Employment Standards Act, 2000.
