Pregnancy, Adoption and Parental Leaves. 30.1 PREGNANCY LEAVE Pregnancy Leave of Absence will be granted, subject to the following:
Pregnancy, Adoption and Parental Leaves. Pregnancy, Adoption, Parental Leaves and Family Medical Leave shall be granted in accordance with the Employment Standards Act, 2000. Employees shall continue to accrue seniority and wage increments during any of the above-mentioned leaves. An employee on pregnancy or parental leave who is entitled to Employment Insurance (EI) pregnancy and/or parental benefits shall receive from the Employer an amount equivalent to 100% of the employee’s normal wages, less deductions required by law, during one (1) week of the waiting period that must be served prior to receiving EI benefits. Normal wages will be calculated at the rate of pay provided on the last day worked prior to the commencement of the leave. Such payment shall not reduce other accumulated benefits provided to the employee. The parties agree that they will engage in discussions at the EERC in the last year of this collective agreement regarding pregnancy and/or parental leave benefits, usage rates and the potential for future changes through collective bargaining.

  • Supplemental Employment Benefit for Maternity and Parental Leave 8.5.1 Effective April 1, 2002, when on maternity or parental leave, an employee will receive a supplemental payment added to Employment Insurance benefits as follows:
